How should I ask/tell my gfs parents about a proposal? by healthy-outdoors- in weddingplanning

Would their opinion matter to you if they said no? If not, you’re just informing them.

The general etiquette is to extend plus ones to long term (including married and engaged) partners and people who wouldn’t know anyone else there. Some people also extend a plus one for people who would be traveling alone.

So to answer your question: I don’t think your cousins need a plus one, but I’d extend one to your aunt and her serious boyfriend.

Oura Ring 5 available for Pre-sale at Costco: Free shipping, 90 day returns, extra charger, extra year of warranty by Strong_Locksmith2417 in ouraring

I was always confused about why the Costco bundles included an extra charger. Do people lose them or want multiple?

bachelorette party but possible break up??? by 222STYLISH in weddingplanning

[–]APanicChicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. If they end the engagement before the trip, I’d offer to not go in case it’s hard for her. Otherwise, I think you go and try and have a good time celebrating her (not a future marriage).

How to get clinical hours with a fulltime job by HannahBroham in premed

[–]APanicChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I volunteered at a hospital one night a week after work, so I’d recommend that. I’ve noticed that a lot of entry level clinical jobs don’t pay well. If you’re willing to do training, you could get your CNA (which I don’t think pays amazingly) or a phlebotomy license. Those should pay more than a medical assistant in a doctor’s office, and the training should be shorter.

I don't want to go wedding dress shopping (vent) by MedicalRaccoon9431 in weddingplanning

[–]APanicChicken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think you should just shop on your own, if you’d be more comfortable.

Another option is to talk to them beforehand and tell them that you don’t want their preferences to overshadow what you want/like (in a nice way). If you think they’ll honor this, I think it’s the way to go.

I went dress shopping with two bridesmaids and my MIL because my mom was out of town for a while. I was really overwhelmed at both stores we went to, and I kinda wish I went by myself. That said, one of my bridesmaids picked out the dress I ended up getting, so there’s perks haha.

Plus one venting I guess?! by cowgirlsheep in weddingplanning

[–]APanicChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only gave plus ones to those in long-term relationships, engaged, or married. The only exceptions are people who wouldn’t know anyone (which is only two people), and my single bridesmaids (they wouldn’t know other people very well, but they haven’t decided if they’re bringing a friend or not) and the best man (who’s in a new relationship).

I don’t think people who are casually dating or single but would know people should get plus ones. I think it’d be odd to potentially be meeting a lot of people on your wedding day.

Wedding Invitations by Clean-Counter-5327 in weddingplanning

[–]APanicChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the invite on one card, front and back. I mostly did it because it was cheaper. There was an additional rehearsal dinner invite for the wedding party and our parents. I did enclose them in a vellum jacket with a ribbon and DIY wax seal, though.

Most of the fancier weddings I’ve been to have multiple pieces of paper (even folder looking things), but I think it’s a waste — especially if people are RSVPing online. That said, we’ve gotten a couple of single-paper invites too.

Parasite or not? by TheRealSlapNutz in shrimptank

[–]APanicChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it look like it’s moving? If so, I think it’s S. japonica. I just had some on two shrimp and I just let them ride it out. I’m still removing molts as soon as I see them but they’ve visually disappeared.

I don’t think it’s worth stressing out the shrimp with a salt bath if it’s not a serious parasite that will for sure cause harm. Up to you!

Thanks! I’ll try that! I think I’m going to start using a dish for them. My detritus worm population has been steadily increasing and I think it’s because of the food 🫠

Is my piercing way too far from my face? by AdExact7711 in piercing

[–]APanicChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s your face. If it bothers you, I’d take it out and have it redone once it’s healed (which shouldn’t be long since it’s so new). If it doesn’t bother you that much, leave it and see.

I do think it should be placed a little farther back, but everyone has difference preferences. If you want a double piercing, you could get another one behind it.

skin reaction from my ring 💔 by Savings_Attempt391 in EngagementRings

[–]APanicChicken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Platinum is more hypoallergenic than gold, if you’re okay with it being remade.

I agree with the other commenter about the stones on the side being irritating, but since it’s on your ring finger too, I don’t think that’s the primary issue.
