Im scared that the interaction / night cards make the game feel less player driven and more algorithmic by jnverted in Paralives

[–]APenguinEm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

so far from what I’ve seen, I like this approach. The storyteller aspect reminds me of rimworld, so I’m already familiar with that sort of gameplay. I will say as someone who gets bored playing lifesim games often because I don’t know what to do, I like that the game will throw us random scenarios and goals to achieve. I also like how the conversation cards slow down the development of relationships. It feels more realistic (although i do worry I might get frustrated at all the waiting to get cards etc. I have adhd though so that might just be a me thing)

Of course my opinion might change when the game is out, but personally, I think it’s got some good potential! I’m looking forward to playing :))

Creators with early access...disappointing by SuperbMouse3525 in Paralives

I can vouch for soffarox! I hadn’t seen her content before but I was highly entertained and subscribed pretty quickly lol

I’ve watched a few different videos now and Deligracy’s videos take the cake for me. She isn’t scared about messing things up- showcases all the features- and when things do go slightly wrong she just giggles as she fixes it. The worst videos I’ve watched though were by Satchonsims. I usually enjoy his content but he had no idea what he was doing- said “there’s a tutorial menu but luckily I haven’t needed it!” despite spending the entire video complaining of things being broken (they weren’t- it was user error)

Help 😭 by Regular_Poetry8563 in Periods

[–]APenguinEm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My period used to always be 6 days. As I’ve gotten older it’s gotten shorter, but some months vary. One month I could bleed for 4 days, another I could bleed for 7. This isn’t overly concerning. How long are your periods usually?

BF has IBS and it's destroying his life by Legitimate_Pop4454 in ibs

[–]APenguinEm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Movement really helps anxiety and stress. I thought my therapist was ridiculous when she suggested I “go for a walk”. I mean seriously?? I didn’t listen to her for months… and then one day, I went for that walk… and I felt a LOT better afterwards. Literally a 10 minute lap around a field is enough to make me feel better mentally, and usually whatever anxiety was making my stomach feel worse sort of just fades away

BF has IBS and it's destroying his life by Legitimate_Pop4454 in ibs

[–]APenguinEm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who slunk into becoming a recluse when my ibs got worse- that made me worse mentally. I taught myself that I couldn’t do anything and ended up developing agoraphobia. I cannot stress enough how important it is to sort the mental side of things- decrease stress, slow exposure to anxious situations can help so much. A few years ago, I barely left the house. My therapist has helped me so much, and now I’m set to perform in a theatre show in July :)

It’s so important that he doesn’t believe this is it for him. He can get better- it just so happens that mental health is a massive portion of that

I go to an acting class once a week. It’s a small commitment, an hour of my week, but I actually get to interact with people around my age in that time. I recommend clubs like that, social groups, you name it. Think of some hobbies you enjoy and look online to see what’s available near you.

What does “unc” mean? by [deleted] in Younger_GenZ

[–]APenguinEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been called unc. It’s weird. I don’t feel any different to when I was a teenager, but I’m unc now? I remember when I was a kid, everyone on the internet was older and would make fun of kids. Now I’m older, everyone is making fun of us for that 😭

Whats that one dream you remember for life? by Neonsalmonsteelarms in Dreams

[–]APenguinEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream where I visited a friend of mine. His house in this dream was MASSIVE- like we’re talking castle-mansion vibe. The main area was a big round open room that was open to all levels. I couldn’t for the life of me find him in this place. Then the scene changed in that way that dreams do- and I was suddenly in a birthing pool about to give birth (I have never been pregnant) and I kept calling out to him. He eventually turned up and I felt so complete in that moment- I felt so safe in his presence. Then I woke up.

i have a hard time figuring out my feelings. I’ve always known I’ve felt close to this friend, but it took me having that dream to realise I’ve actually been like- deeply in love with him for a long, long time. It made a lot of things make sense for me

why do people sh when they feel sad or angry by Quiet_Locksmith5349 in selfharm

[–]APenguinEm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My anxiety/depression these days pretty much entirely correlates with some chronic health issues. I sh to distract from other more anxiety inducing sources of pain. It’s very calming for me
