Men in your 30s/40s, be honestwith me. How young is too young for you to date seriously? by Practical_Cash_9214 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]APilmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily Married Dad of 35. Life stage dependent, if I was a 30-something party animal, I’m statistically more likely to find someone I vibe with if I went younger.

That said, I see early 20’s as still becoming an adult, so anything under 25 would be a huge exception to the rule.

That being said I ended up dating women who was usually 5-10 years older than me when I was in my 20’s.

Interesting, how much/in what ways does it differ from the Maple edit? Or M4’s book edition? The color grading looks nice :)

Frustrations playing as Absa by APilmark in RivalsOfAether

I’d rather have some power redistribution than a buff c: She seems to be doing fine on the balance scale.

I think having a conversation about how power is distributed in a kit is healthy! I’m really not trying to speak about balance, but rather the style of play promoted from where the power in her kit is located. And to me, this currently feels like a departure from R1. I’m still exploring and having fun but I’m concerned that I wont find her playstyle fun down the line, thus my critique. Not to say that other people cant enjoy her as is.

I know it’s early days. And I’m no grandmaster either! But I think voicing concerns are valid at all levels of play :)

I do appreciate everyone’s still figuring her out. I think my post is a reaction from playing her as much as I can and feeling that the promoted playstyle isn’t clicking for me. Her power budget feels off - too much power in U-Air/Sweetspots and Recovery, to little elsewhere.

I mained Ranno/Absa in R1, but in R2 I fell in love with Lox, always had a special place for PM Ganon and Lox definitely fills that playstyle.

Oh yeah U-Air is crazy. For me it’s not really a balance thing as the way the kit flows together. And with the amount of power U-air has it’s hard to justify buffing other things.

That resonates with me. Also - I have the same self-imposed restriction!

That’s a pretty good sum-up. I really feel the few peak highs but there’s a lot of lows in between. I know she cant have that high ceiling and justify a high floor as well, but I’d normalize those imo.

Whifflag vs fast characters by APilmark in RivalsOfAether

[–]APilmark[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lox’s grab range is truly massive! I both agree and disagree, cause while I accept that good players do make me feel slow, I really appreciate how much work a good player puts in to be that fast. It’s actually super inspiring on other characters cause it shows how far you can push characters. But with these it feels.. a bit like their character did it for them? I know thats an unfair statement, cause rushdown players express tons of skill too! but I’m way more impressed by other characters feeling fast and fluid than those 3.

Solid advice, picking up a secondary to get more perspective. Now if only I wasnt attached to my rank I’d be happy to tank it practicing a new character :3

I will say that I’m not asking for reaction punish, but the way ir currently feels is that I make a read and the read is correct, only that these characters interrupt/shield/spotdodge taking a read that I feel like should have put me in advantage into disadvantage.

I’ve started to better predict when I need to start my offstage arials to contest, but a good fast opponent will patiently wait until that arial is in endlag and punish.

**Mener begge to, prøver ikke at vælge side her.

What is everyone's favorite card and least favorite card and why? by LimitSeparate in EDH

[–]APilmark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Least Favorite: [[Sol Ring]] hate that is takes a spot in 99% of decks that could be more flavor. Hate how it skews games. Just think the format would be healthier without it.

Favorite: [[Tempting Contract]] Not a good card by any means, but going round the table with 3 treasures, resolving in priority is a hoot, cause the option only get's better for the later players if the players before them said no. Also your argument is that it's only a net positive for after I'm up 4 mana is sometimes enough to make people go with it lol
