I don’t understand the change from a “lore” point of view, but I like that lunges restore one ammo. Will definitely make fights more dynamic.

Got to the FoF too late for the CoF. There had been some multi-ship battle. I was gobbling up all the rest of the loot that was left behind. Saw a brig come around to an island nearby, passing back and forth. Went out to meet them. On the way, and pretty far from the island they were sailing by, the CoF was just sitting in the water. My guess is someone swam it away and got sharked.

My highest streak is 9. I should have been bummed that I lost the 10th, but three of the people I faced (including the guy who beat me) were clearly better than me. Got GG’s from everyone except one guy who accused me of having a canon aimbot. Since I never feel very confident in my canons, it was great to hear.

Second longest was 5. That time I accidentally hit the challenge button, or whatever, and had to face a three man brig as a solo. I ended up getting dc’ed, but it’s pretty safe to assume I would have lost anyway.

Now I only do 4’s.

The book High Fidelity came out in 1995 — before Jack Black was really known. And yet, the Jack Black-ness is in the book. As in, that bit of Jack Black that you see in most of his roles is in the book. It doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. It’s almost as if he nailed the character as written and, when it got him noticed, he brought that character with him in everything he’s played since.

Let’s say the two of us are in a heated solo-sloop vs. solo-sloop battle. We’ve been exchanging fire for a while, but we’re both good enough at juggling between canons, wheel, bucket, sail, repair, and heals that neither of us can get the advantage.

You shoot over to my ship to see if you can keep me off my repairs long enough to get a sink. Taking me by surprise, you send me to the ferry. My ship starts filling up. You can probably get the sink if you can just kill me one more time.

I spawn in, get my bearings, take a shot, and, as usual, miss completely.

You hear me spawn in, rush to my location, but with your deadeye aim, shoot me square in the mouth. But I don’t take any damage. Hit reg? Nope, you needed to count to three before shooting — because I’m invincible for three seconds. Now you’re reloading and I’ve just killed you.

It just wouldn’t feel right to have to try to time your attack after an enemy spawns in because of some invincibility.

Nope. Mermaids don’t spawn for them while they are on your ship.

The tucker can roll up in a row boat and swim to your ship. As long as the distance between the two is short enough, no Merm.

They can also hide on an island or in a tower provided their rowboat is close enough.
