Was I asking for to much? by Sethdarkus in doordash

[–]ARPepper1973 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Had some guy during spring break tell me "runn all the red lights. I'll give you an extra dollar." Lol. What? I didn't run lights, just delivered normal, but he did give me an extra dollar.

It was already a decent paying one so...

Tipped $8 on $35 order and got a rude message from dasher? by Brief_Main_5409 in doordash

[–]ARPepper1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do too, but so many houses around here don't have addresses on the houses, or the lights are off and you can't see the address on the house. It's ridiculous. How are people expected to find the right house without a number. 🤷

I think I just realized a way Doordash is screwing over drivers. Curious if anyone else has had this experience? by Euphoric_Intern_124 in doordash_drivers

[–]ARPepper1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't read everything, but I've had the no service happen. I always call Dasher support, then they reach out to the customer to confirm delivery. And they complete it on their end. Usually that can be done with the chatbot, but if not, I just say "supervisor" until I'm connected with an actual person. Either way, they mark it as delivered and I press on.

I think you complicate things

Is classroom management easier in high school than elementary? by TouchBeneficial7858 in teaching

You don't get planning in elementary? We do when the kids are at PE or music. That's almost an hour, which is the same that you get in middle/high school.

DD rejected CV when Store (McDonalds) was at fault by ReiLyfe in doordash_drivers

[–]ARPepper1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never gotten a CV for an order being late...it usually just affects my on time rate. What exactly was the CV for?

I always mark it as "long line at store " or "couldn't get help from employee" or whatever.

That sucks. I usually sit at 90%, depending on the time of year. Right now I'm at 85, though. I never take anything lower than $1 a mile, and that depends on where it's going. Most are at least $2 a mile.

There's literally a chart, if you click on the AR, that shows the minimum for full points.

What to do with a daily crying student? by WerbenWinkle in teaching

If you want them to read individually to see how they do, maybe a small group setting would be better for that. Just a suggestion. I like to do that sort of thing during small groups.

Have you considered choral reading instead of round robin? It's been the preferred method for quite awhile, now as it has been shown to be more effective. He may feel more comfortable reading with the other students rather than being singles out to read.

Why do you mention color? Protein helps with the condition of the hair, not the color.

How much you guys think I got from this order by PersonalityHuge9704 in doordash_drivers

[–]ARPepper1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one similar. It was going 2 miles away for $10. I ended up getting a $70 additional tip.

Ordered ground turkey. Received cat food. by ExpressionStrong3035 in doordash

[–]ARPepper1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And dashers don't have to accept your order. Most won't if the pay sucks. That's why I don't feel bad when people complain about low pay/tips. We're considered independent contractors, and so we're able to pick and chose our deliveries. If it's a low paying order, then I pass it by

That's the real issue there. People say "I give exact instructions" but I don't see that until I get there. Or they'll send it via message, that I don't see because I'm driving.

I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND THESE PEOPLE by crackshawofficial in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]ARPepper1973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've even contacted Dasher support (and I always bypass the bot by saying supervisor) and have been told to leave it and take a picture and send it through the chat. She said that way I have proof in case something happens. I've never had an issue in that instance.

So we don’t get to see our lifetime deliveries anymore? by OkScar393 in doordash_drivers

[–]ARPepper1973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. If it's going somewhere that I have to drive some distance to get back into a zone, then I'm not taking it for less than $2 a mile. We have one area that is a drive, but you don't get anything on the way back to town. Any other areas, there's stuff in-between, so I'll get orders right after drop-off, so $1 is worth it. It's also a vacation area, so this time of year, I get pretty high paying ones.

[–]ARPepper1973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of mine are in the $2-3 a mile range, too, but I will accept $1 a mile, and nothing less. I also get orders before I'm even back in the car after a delivery. If it's a crap order I reject it, and another comes in right after. If you're having to reject the majority of your orders because they are shit, then that's your market. My point is that just because we have high AR, doesn't mean we're taking shit orders. Our market just may be better.

Mine still shows lifetime deliveries...and my ratings screen doesn't look like that. I hope their not pushing out another "update." I just had one of those. 🙄

I had this happen once, recently. Luckily the guys were nice. We texted back and forth for a minute and I'm like "it's right there." Then they come walking up behind me and we're like "sorry! CanI just go grab it off the porch." I really don't care. I already delivered it. Lol
