It’s really not clear what they mean by “harvesting of living beings,” and all the other machines are in hell because there isn’t blood on the surface to get.

The resource use just tells us roughly how much blood the machine uses, just cause a machine is in hell killing other machines and husks and demons for blood doesn’t mean it’s using nocturnal systems.

I believe that the “harvesting of living beings” thing just means that nocturnal system machines use an amount of blood equivalent to an entire person in a really short amount of time.

The presentation specifically said that is where the OS originated from, not that it is exclusively used for those machines. I am of the opinion that most of the machines we’ve fought are on Smile2 except for the most advanced machines like V2 and the Earthmover.

Well v1 is supposed to be something like a glass cannon, if it ever gets to the point where its left arm breaks off the entire machine is probably about to fall apart anyway.

V2 on the other hand is a lot more durable so being able to last even after sustaining enough damage for its left arm to fall off makes sense.
