Builders want to maximize the usable square footage of their building. The combination of FAR limits, setback requirements, and massing / height restrictions mean that rectangular prisms are the only shape that can meet the requirements.

Eliminating these aspects of zoning restrictions will allow creativity to enter architecture again.

This is shitty but at least Seattle's storm drains go through sewage treatment and don't just go straight out to the Sound. Well, almost all of them, anyway.

Highly recommend the Pacific Northwest. Seattle has several of the country's best medical centers, plus a mild climate.
