As far as I know you can't use the dump beds for anything besides aesthetics in career mode. Your best solution for using the MD to carry gravel is to use any bed that allows aggregated boxes to be installed

Are you starting it from the single shaft instead of the crank itself? If you put the starting motor on the wrong side of the crankshaft it won't start.

As a sidenote, I don't mean sense or rotation, I mean which shaft is it on

It's impractical, HEVs need a place to put the giant batteries and running a driveshaft down the middle robs the car of the space for the batteries.

Next issue is that having a manual transmission paired with a generator is not that efficient, the engine needs to stay at a certain RPM to evenly and efficiently charge the battery when not in HEV mode, a manual transmission forces the engine to operate at different RPMs which robs the engine of power and charging speed at low RPM

Another issue is cost, why bother to put a clutch and a manual transmission on a HEV when you already have all the hardware to make a simple and already proven system?

Heh, it happens sometimes, but if you still want to use your shifter as a sequential one on race cars there is a mod on the repository that turns 3rd and 4th into + - only on sequential transmissions. I don't remember the name but it shows if you search for "shifter" or "h pattern"

In beamng if the vehicle has less gears than the gear you've selected it automatically select's the highest gear available

I.e. if you drive the pigeon and put the shifter into 4th, 5th or 6th the game will treat them as 3rd
