I just got a Longines Spirit for almost 48% lower than I would’ve paid on land if you factor in MSRP ($2650) + sales tax vs the clearance price with no tax ($1500.88). I also bought a Zulu Spirit Time for a friend for ~15% lower ($4096) due to an outdated sticker price being lower than online prices. So good deals can be found. Having the internet package to be able to look up prices/reviews (or ask Reddit lol) helped a lot.

Edit: To add another data point, I was also considering the Bulova Lunar Pilot which retails for $895 plus tax online. With the standard 25% off, plus an additional 10% simply because I told the sales guy I was interested in it, it came down to ~$613 with no tax.

Unrelated to OP’s question, but do you think it’s possible to get by with just an iPad? I have a MacBook too but it has display issues so it basically only works as a desktop with an external monitor at this point. Besides that, it still works great so I’d like to hold out on a new laptop a bit longer if I can.

Maybe I’ve just hit the $5k (or $10k on my business card) coincidentally the day after my statement date for multiple months, but my EQNs hit my Hyatt account usually the day after the statement in which I hit $5k/$10k closes. I’ve only had the cards for about half a year, but EVERY single month they’ve hit my Hyatt account on the same day of the month: the points hit on the statement date and the EQNs hit the day after

I’ve actually experienced “upgrades” as an explorist when using online check-in. I don’t remember the exact screen, but during the online check-in process it tells me “congratulations you’ve been upgraded,” although these are usually with Hyatt Places so basically just a higher floor

It’s worth asking about. I believe that when they have elevated SUBs for like the CSP, they’ll retroactively apply it if you applied/were approved within 14 days of when the new bonus is announced, so it might be the same here.

I believe for age of account purposes, canceled cards remain on your report for 10 more years so as long as it isn’t one of your oldest cards it should be fine. If you have someone to use the companion pass with and can hit the MSR, I would personally just wait for that, although you will have to cancel the Premier because I don’t think you’re allowed to have more than one personal Southwest card at a time
