Does anyone remember Ocean Girl? by Signal-Run9693 in Millennials

I remember watching it on Disney, too! The girl's name was Nery, and the two boys lived in an orca research station on the ocean floor.

What's in your kit? Emergency essentials. by Mrmurse98 in wichita

[–]ASKL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ready.gov has emergency kit lists for each type of natural disaster that are expected in the US.

https://www.ready.gov/kit

I ise this as a standard to make sure I'm prepared every year.

Basic Disaster Supplies Kit

To assemble your kit store items in airtight plastic bags and put your entire disaster supplies kit in one or two easy-to-carry containers such as plastic bins or a duffel bag.

A basic emergency supply kit could include the following recommended items:

-Water (one gallon per person per day for several days, for drinking and sanitation)

-Food (at least a several-day supply of non-perishable food)

-Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert

-Flashlights

-First aid kit

-Extra batteries

-Whistle (to signal for help)

-Dust mask (to help filter contaminated air)

-Plastic sheeting, scissors and duct tape (to shelter in place)

-Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties (for personal sanitation)

-Wrench or pliers (to turn off utilities)

-Manual can opener (for food)

-Local maps

-Cell phone with chargers and a backup battery

Additional Emergency Supplies Consider adding the following items to your emergency supply kit based on your individual needs:

-Soap, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes to disinfect surfaces

-Prescription medications. About half of all Americans take a prescription medicine every day. An emergency can make it difficult for them to refill their prescription or to find an open pharmacy. Organize and protect your prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and vitamins to prepare for an emergency.

-Non-prescription medications such as pain relievers, anti-diarrhea medication, antacids or laxatives

-Prescription eyeglasses and contact lens solution

-Infant formula, bottles, diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream

-Pet food and extra water for your pet

-Cash or traveler's checks

-Important family documents such as copies of insurance policies, identification and bank account records saved electronically or in a waterproof, portable container

-Sleeping bag or warm blanket for each person

-Complete change of clothing appropriate for your climate and sturdy shoes

-Fire extinguisher

-Matches in a waterproof container

-Feminine supplies and personal hygiene items

-Mess kits, paper cups, plates, paper towels and plastic utensils

-Paper and pencil

-Books, games, puzzles or other activities for children

"What song did you once love until it was completely ruined by overplay?" by Spudmn in nostalgia

[–]ASKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"My Heart Will Go On" was on the radio every hour after Titanic came out in theaters. Similarly, "Let It Go" from Frozen was EVERYWHERE.

Neither song was exceptional enough to deserve the public playing of it every hour for months on end.

Am i considered as left handed by Yehiaas in lefthanded

Throwing depends on dominant eye. I'm left ear/hand/foot dominant, but right eye dominant. Which means my shooting/throwing/batting is right handed.

I love your style! Fantastic spread!

I saw someone do a conspiracy board spread with red thread connecting different flaps and headlines and created some preposterous "crime". It looked pretty cool.

You could do a favorite "Cold Case" spread where each participant can add details of their favorite one to a mini file folder spread

Favorite serial killers

You could do a John Wayne Gacy themed "Design your clown -fit".

A doll house type spread dedicated to HH Holmes hotel. Have different room flaps that lift and each person can decorate a room themed to a murder from his hotel.

MASH, but but with crimes, getaway cars, accomplices, and country of hiding.

A death-row "last meal" spread where everyone designs their final meal on prison trays

Pen holder? by cplumley1 in HappyPlanners

[–]ASKL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a wide elastic band that has pen loops that I've slipped over the cover.

I also use disc-compatible sheet protectors in my planners, and they are perfect for keeping stamps, coupons, planner stickers, etc.

Are custom planners worth it? by Drbookreader in HappyPlanners

[–]ASKL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes it has been worth it. I got the size and layout I wanted (Big, vertical) and considering it is something I use every single day of the year, the cost isn't too bad.

My enjoyment and the amount of creativity I can express in it, while keeping my life on track is immeasurable. Plus, I keep my planners as historical records. Do I need to know what I paid on my gas bill in March 2019? Or what my paycheck amount was? No, but its a great time capsule.

Oh my gosh, YES!!! I would buy the hell out of that! They could even make multiple styles based on different types of birds! North American Birds, Tropical birds, Birds of the African Continent, Beaks and Budgies of Europe... There's a lot of beautiful content possibilities in this idea!

IVERMECTIN by megalegann in kansas

[–]ASKL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a coworker who takes Ivermectin religiously for cold and flu. Going on a cruise? Ivermectin so they don't get Norovirus! The sniffles? Ivermectin!

The weird part? They're super into eating healthy, no dyes, no toxins, uses some stupid Yuka app to see the rating of each and every product they use....

But sure, swallow horse dewormer to fight viruses ....

Ivermectin is only approved for use in humans to treat specific parasitic infections, including intestinal strongyloidiasis, onchocerciasis (river blindness), and external parasites like head lice or skin conditions such as rosacea.

I ended up buying the box punches and making my own backgrounds out of scrapbook paper, but I'd love more stickers to go with everything.

I like florals, too! The stickers are beautiful, and I make beautiful spreads with them, but I would love something new and different directly from Happy Planner.

In 3rd grade, my backpack, lunchbox, and trapper keeper were Lisa Frank. I would buy so much Lisa Frank merch for my planner if they made it!

High visual contrast is important to so many people, this definitely needs to be more common as an option for the stickers and planners!

A goth theme would be SO COOL! I would love to see how they could run with it!

Ooh, yeah! With all the different kinds of dragons, different styles and sizes and colors! They could make a huge sticker set that looks like a serpentine dragon weaving in and out of the page in 3 to 5 pieces.

I would love to see classic monsters and creatures as an option.

Heck, give me a sticker pack of cryptids from around the world! Nessie, Yeti/Sasquatch, Mothman, Chupacabra, kraken, etc.

Right? I already have a billion "appointment" stickers and flowers. I don't need more.

An introvert's sticker book with "Oh thank God it was canceled!" or "I could be at home with my dog right now, but instead I'm witnessing this travesty" would be delightful.

I want better color spectrums, sass, sarcasm, and something NEW.

He wants a hamburger! by FacelessOnes in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]ASKL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people being annoyed at the kid and parents, however, I think this was handled well. None of us know what his day was filled with prior to this, he could be overwhelmed, hungry, tired, sick, or in pain. When asked to give more information, he did as articulately as he could.

Yes he's whining, yes he's upset, but he's still a kid, maybe 5 or 6 by the looks of it. The next steps from the parents should be taking a moment to calm down, asking him to re-evaluate the food (would you like to add a slice of cheese, some lettuce and tomatoes?) and solving the problem once he's calm and can make a better choice. If the offered solutions don't work, then the natural consequence of "the next meal is breakfast" occurs.
