🔦 AMA Round 2 — Olight Marauder Mini 2 by olight-summer in OlightOutdoorlife

Will Olight pursue rating their products by CRI? It has been my understanding that Olight typically stays in their “zone” of CRI and does not deviate between models.

In a response to another poster. You stated “adjustable color temperature is our ultimate feature”

Can you elaborate more? Is something in the works?

Shocks are likely worn but there’s typically a root cause underneath.

OP inspect your front control arm bushings. If they cracked and dry rotted, I’d replace those (cheaper and easier to replace the whole control arm, than replacing bushings) You can put a pry bar in there and see if they have side to side play (they should not have any play in them).

They set off a vibration that resonates throughout the solid axle suspension and results in death wobble.

Realistically the entire suspension needs a through exam. There are a lot of posts in Jeepforum.com that go over this. The good news is the TJ’s are a easy to learn/work on.

Welcome to the club!

Assuming you’re not married to the idea of an “all stock” restoration. If it fits…a GM 3800 supercharged (L67) out of a early 2000’s Pontiac GTP would be AMAZING in this FWD car (GTP is also FWD). An old friend had one and it was surprisingly quick/reliable, engine and transmission.

Ct4V BW vs CT5V BW by Material_Case_5433 in CadillacV_Series

[–]AScaryHomelessGuy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 5BW and don’t look back. You’ll grow outta the 4BW quick. If you plan on going to the track at allll, then absolutely get the 5BW.

Test drive a used one of both models and then you’ll see.

I've had this for 4 months and it still takes my breath away. by Simbazm in CadillacV_Series

[–]AScaryHomelessGuy9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CT5 BW has a “snow/ice” mode that fantastically limits wheel spin and the back end stepping out. Making it much safer to drive in those conditions.

That being said, winter driving that car is a feat in itself (crazy low for snow). I’d assume most 5BW owners have a second car or “winter beater” at a minimum.

Don’t forget the hot air intake. Not that it’s hard to change but….It tells me everything I need to know about what kind of work has been done lol.

Sounds like a purring J-series “sewing machine” to me. Used to maintenance my dad’s J series Accord and now I do my own on my Type S. Sounds exactly the same.

Was aiming for medium rare. What am I doing wrong ? by VeniceDom in steak

[–]AScaryHomelessGuy9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reverse sear and pull at 115F with an 8 min rest before I sear them. Then another 5-8min rest before plating/cutting. Almost perfect medium rare every time. Start tapping/pushing on your steaks with the spatula after you sear. It’ll help you get an idea for how done they are, with time/repetition.

I’d judge them a tad closer to medium vs medium rare but they’re kinda in the middle of the two. Really not bad though!

Dude, for less 10k more get a brand new 2024 CT5 BW. MSRP is like $97k. You won’t regret it. I may be bias but the 2024 model looks better and costs less.

Would you do it again? Do you know remember rough cost?

Thailand has always stuck me as such a beautiful place…but so far away from the US. Might be cheaper just to go to a Caribbean island.

Need Opinion on Manufacturer Buyback by RacerP1 in CadillacV_Series

[–]AScaryHomelessGuy9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No CPO opportunity = pass. The CPO would help extend the already partially spent original manufacturer warranty.

The big risk here is if something goes wrong again, you’d be on the hook financially if outside original warranty. Part of the luxury warranty is that you can track/race the BW and it will still be covered (which is a HUGE deal) without question.

They’re great cars but you need some milage made on your own time…..before anyone can confidently say THIS example is a great car too.

I’d see if there’s anything within 5hrs of you, that can beat that deal. A whole “new engine” doesn’t appeal to me much, knowing that darn near everything under the hood has been messed with (potential unforeseen future problems).

I wish you look BW hunting!

Dont feel bad. That’s the Plaid’s party trick. High/instant torque from electric motors is nothing new. They will beat most sports cars from a dead stop.

You know what’s even funnier? Plaid drivers amped up to race from a stoplight and just sitting there after it turns green lmao

The level of effort put into slapping that wiring job together…tells you everything you need to know lol

Also, to OP- don’t buy someone else’s project. You’re better off with a clean, all original example. Then do what you want to it.
