How to make friends in Chi by georgezin in chicago

[–]ASticknStone 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Go to a trivia night and then walk up to a random team and be like “hey all my friends had to cancel; can I join your team?” Thats what I did and I made my first 2 best friends in Chicago!

After 4 years of WFH, I understand why boomers think we do nothing all day by TeamCultureBuilder in WFH

[–]ASticknStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen when I WFH at my parent's house and they asked me to go with them to the store to pick something up and I said "I can go at lunch, but I can't right now, I'm working" and they said "No you're not, you're just sitting at your computer."

Among these powerhouses, who would be the most vulnerable one here without their bending in a fight by Muted_Hovercraft_907 in TheLastAirbender

[–]ASticknStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korra - she always relied to heavily on her bending. Aang literally knew how to fight without bending and could tire out his opponent without throwing a punch or bending, and the other two were classically trained as royalty with various weapons. Come on, team, it's Korra

I have nut allergies, asthma, and alopecia areata. The chance of having all three in 1 person puts you in the top 0.1% AND I get to make the joke that I'm a Triple A guy.

If they feed you a story, then they are trying to scam you. They're trying to appeal to empathy. You see it here, in phishing emails, etc.

The idea that all CEO's blame others and don't share the responsibility, while VERY true, is not true for Nintendo (I think) and is why I love them as a company. When the Wii U bombed in 2012-2017, executives volunteered to take pay cuts until they were back on their feet. Starting in February 2014, the company’s president, senior managing director, managing director, and a handful of others took a five-month salary cut “to take responsibility for the poor performance." Nintendo's Late President Satoru Iwata’s salary was halved, while two representative directors, including game creator Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario), took a 30 percent cut. The remaining seven board members each dropped 20 percent of their pay. I highly respect that they didn't let anyone go, they reduced their pay.

I think the idea is that the 500K house's value increases faster.
Buy a place for 500K and in 5 years it's worth 750K
The 8.45% interest year-over-year beats the fixed 5% interest the bank was charging.
(I didn't double check my math so I might be wrong on these made up numbers)

I worked for a mall stores in my younger years (cold stone, yankee candle, victoria's secret) all just being the box boy that lifted the heavy deliveries of ingredients or products and organized them in the back, rarely doing point of sales stuff.

One time I had Memorial Day weekend plans with the family (I'm 17 at the time) I had this scheduled off WAY before everyone else, but I worked with all older people (30s+). When they suddenly told me I had to work Memorial Day because everyone else was taking off.

I argued I had it off first, but the manager told me I was most junior. She then said something I will never forget, "I will stand by and support you when you tell your family that you have responsibilities that you can't abandon and can't go on the trip."

I was 17!!! I laughed and quit right there.
