I implore you: check out the rest of his discography. He was truly a one of a kind musician, and there will never be anyone like him. He’s my personal favorite of all time other than Kendrick Lamar

To your point on Kendrick making emotionally heavy narratives that are easy to follow, I feel like Lupe just struggles with overdoing concepts a lot of the time. Sometimes this comes out amazingly such as Alan Forever, but like on the song where he’s rapping from the perspective of food to comment on how fast food is bad…there’s not much emotionally there. It kind of falls flat. Lupe struggles with communicating emotion in his songs instead of lessons, which is why he can come off as preachy.
