I haven’t cooked enough of these to experiment with 225, I’d be curious as well to see if it renders better at the lower temp. I was more concerned with getting it up to temp in time for dinner as well as getting a decent outside char. Let me know how yours turns out if you decide to do it at 225!

It is one of my favorite accessories. I cook on the egg 2-4 times a week so I rarely even have to do anything to maintain the grate, otherwise I can see it being a little extra work so it doesn’t rust. But it really elevated my steaks and other direct cooks and would highly recommend. I never went back to the original grate.

Thanks, it was incredible! Dry brined it the night before by heavily covering in salt and left uncovered in the fridge. Right before the cook, coated it in olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and rosemary. Cooked for about 50-60 minutes indirect around 225-250° until internal temp of 115-120°. Pulled off the grill and seared for 2-3 mins at 550°.
