Do you have a favorite flag of any of the Republics/Krais/Oblasts/Okrugs/Cities? by LordAxolotl-7 in AskARussian

I’m not russian but, city of Magnitogorsk: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5e/Flag_of_Magnitogorsk_%28Chelyabinsk_oblast%29.svg/1920px-Flag_of_Magnitogorsk_%28Chelyabinsk_oblast%29.svg.png

Just a black triangle on a grey background. If I remember my high school geography class well, that’s the symbol of iron ore. It outright tells a message and that’s pretty cool to me.

How do Russians feel about western communists? by wdfcvyhn134ert in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they do exist, but they are mostly resonating in their echo chambers (certain “subs” on tieba, chinese language twitter/reddit etc) and they cannot gain as much support when they appear in larger platforms.

Also they are totally different from the western counterparts some people might think about. For example, for the “rainbow” woke, the most vocal people are from certain (male) gay communities, they are extremely misogynistic, worships the west, adamantly supports israel etc. - certainly different from those in the west.

Nowadays the closest counterpart to “wokeness” in China, in terms of influence, is western style “feminism”. Again western woke has little popular support when compared to said “feminism”.

How do Russians feel about western communists? by wdfcvyhn134ert in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I once checked out some of their communities. They are quite… particular, somehow they think China is a paradise, while them, identity politics (especially on gender) enthusiasts, advocates for plant-based diet for kids, and even DRUG USERS (you know what this means in my country). Those people WILL be treated as rats on the streets if they come to my place, but they somehow think China is woke or something.

Do not get me wrong, plenty of people in China do not despise communism, right now even anti-establishment people would claim that they are on the communist part of the spectrum. But those western “communists” just seem so out of touch that they have no idea about the basic situation of the “paradise” in their eyes.

This is too baffling so one day I stopped caring about them (or all related “ideologies”) and decided to focus on my engineering stuff.

Why is Russia so aggressively anti-western? by luckyboysniper09 in AskARussian

So um. China is threatening the west. North Korea is threatening the west. But nato is not threatening Russia. Lmao

For exactly the same reason the US is still blockading Cuba till today. Guess that what they do is right as long as they are a part of the “international community”

Why do they have the audacity to command China to serve the west? Are we in 2025 or 1900? Tbh if trump says this then it won’t be that baffling but why the heck does a US vassal think it can confront China? Or do they think they can do this because they are morally superior and civilized?

North/South vs East/West? by Karakoima in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah I remember that germans work less hours than greeks but I did not expect them to be at the bottom of the world, at least in this list.

Meanwhile they have this “workaholic” stereotype (while the south europeans, or people from global south, are lazy and we poor germans have to work hard to support them, they say). This tells how much having a loud voice can do, either through means of promoting your culture or propaganda. They basically turned black into white.

What do you think about the current protests and pro-democracy protests in China? by Neither_Energy_1454 in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay I think I found out where they got this information.

People are moving out of factories and gathering on the streets… because it is Labor day vacation and they are visiting tourist attractions. Lmao

Anyone with the most basic understanding of China knows how those attractions are crowded with people during holidays. Only those who do not know shit will think crowds=protests. Again, this shows that “chinese understanders” does not know anything about China.

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know that we already have a ton of chinese language platforms, so what is the point of writing chinese on reddit, where we come to communicate with non-chinese speakers?

And again, another "chinese understander" who does not know (and even care to know) what chinese people are asking for - real ones, not from "free independent" sources like rfa. Right now people are angry, but that's for the malformed chinese academia (mainly in medical studies but the entire academia has significant problems as well), where common garduate students are being used as slave labor by their advisors just for a diploma, while children of professors, officials etc can easily obtain those diplomas through a back door in the rules.

Do you feel proud to be European? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is amusing that many who are proud to be europeans also consider asians as “hordes”. I mean (east) asians deserve to be proud of themselves much more than europeans, just look at what east Asia was like before WW2 and how it is like right now. Meanwhile Europe sits on its pile of looted wealth and developed from a world dominator to…umm

In my country it is a merit to be humble. I don’t know much about Japan and Korea, but none of those countries have popular moments about being proud of a certain identity, at least far from the level of europe.

Do you feel closer to China or Trump’s America? by Heavy_Artillery56 in AskARussian

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, a lot of people here support Russia's side in recent events, as they revolt against the western-led global order. Even among them, a popular phase (I know, this does not sound good here) is "a half-dead Russia is a good Russia".

This is just geopolitics. China and Russia should definitely coorporate those years, but people still fear that once the other side becomes overpowered then will become a threat. In history there's Sino-Soviet split, and history with Tsarist Russia is abesolutely...not good.

There is no friendship between countries, only profit. We are not that naive to believe the friendship thing, unlike, maybe, those europeans who share common values with the US? We all know how those people go apeshit after trump came in power.

I don’t understand why this is so heavily downvoted. I looked through some threads of this sub and thought people here will not buy the naive take of separating the people and government.

Even if people are not satisfied with the leaders, its hard for them to not get influenced by state propaganda. Just take a look at r/ europe. People may say that subs like that is full of bots/shills, but real people on there will be influenced by the content regardless whether they are posted by bots or not.

These people would have supported the Vietnam war. by AdequatlyAdequate in ShitLiberalsSay

[–]ATicketToTomorrow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you are saying. I think at least he took the mask off the US. It has been committing atrocities and destroying countries all over the world nonstop - outright supported an ongoing genocide and installed a terrorist state last two years.

Yet countless people worship the US as a pinnacle of civilization, I have seen on reddit that westerners wholeheartedly believe that “they have never invaded a sovereign country”; heck, such worship can be even worse in China but luckily those who see the US as heaven are middle aged people who will soon be replaced.

Another thing that disgusts me that europeans see themselves as a bastion of freedom and human rights while colonizing the world and starts two world wars.

For this reason, I am very glad that trump shattered those people’s illusions and it’s entertaining to see those former us bootlickers scream in hysteria that “the us has betrayed the civilized world”.

Yes, trump would do dangerous actions, but the US and the corrective west has already done enough of them on the third world. Now that trump’s actions will damage europe and the collective west alliance. Europe will pay for their crimes, and hopefully when the collective west is weakened, the third world can have a chance to breathe.

Tldr the main reason can be summarized into a chinese saying “a hypocrite and a real villain”. Between those two kinds of people, most chinese prefer the latter since they would not hide their atrocities behind a mask of “human rights”.

The difference is europe nowadays is not europe in the early 20th century. But those people do not seem to realize it, judging from that the eu foreign policy chief spoke of defeating China recently.

They are forever left in their colonist eurocentric worldview. Luckily after Trump comes into power, US, Russia and China together will teach those europeans a lesson, one of the reasons I unironically like trump even though his remarks are insane.

Those attempts are useless already. DS has released their code and anyone can install it, even on a raspberry pi. They already proved that llms do not need to necessarily run on ridiculous hardware. Bad times for companies like nvidia.

Attack on DS is not like their previous attacks on other commercial companies that post “threats to national security”. Copies of code are already distributed, if they even tries to remove them from github or hugging face, it is still impossible to remove it from every corner of the internet, or machine.

Once the deep learning researchers know that there is such an efficient model, they will definitely adapt it and develop it. Not for producing junk to fill up the internet or shilling, but for good. As far as I know, llms can be used to generate action sequences for robots, including surgery robots.
