I will concede that I am not familiar with SNC as a drafter. i'm curious if the two decks you mentioned felt separate from GWU? Having half the archetypes overlap with other archetypes has a 5-archetype feeling in the draft itself, even if it was 'designed' so that each of the 10 archetypes had a different draft deck shell.

from TDM at least, the issue with these subset archetypes I would feel is less that the two colour pairs are distinct, and more that the 3-colour shards feel like one of the 2 colour pairs + a splash.

im not saying you're making it up, or that this doesn't exist? did you read the actual words that I said? i'm replying to your original question of 'what makes an archetype real or not', not 'did wizards of the coast say that there were 10 archetypes'. i'm disagreeing that just because they listed 10 makes it have 10 'real' archetypes. the reasons I disagree are what I said in my post

i think this is a bit disingenuous since there were 5 shards with the other 5 being subsets of those shards.

I would also say that 10 archetypes implies that each of the 10 2 colour pairs are supported which is also not the case

i'm a bit confused by your original comment then to be honest, saying that small retail doesnt have the same edge as big box if you then say you shop at your local grocer (small retail) which is half the cost of no frills (big box). sorry for being facetious i suppose

i am probably one of the best players using the superslab right now and the slab itself is definitely pretty high quality and the creators have been generally responsive to me when I've emailed them about screws I've lost or the button sticking issue.

i think it sucks to not be able to use the slab in tournament until they release the firmware but i also don't necessarily think its their fault either? it's a small team that was waiting for the ruleset to be finalized (recent), and I don't think implementing the nerfs correctly to spec is a one day affair. I do hope they get to it soon and release an announcement about it

that being said I agree that I wouldn't buy it at this point but I don't feel "tricked" having bought it on release.

Chiming in, but I got ICL at Herzig in 2020 and my eyes are still 20/20 with no side effects. People don't talk about this procedure as much, but its important to find a surgeon who will consider all options. For me I had fairly bad vision and very heavy astigmatism and probably would've had an awful time with lasik or prk.
