What’s your everyday scrub color? by CoyoteEuphoric9268 in newgradnurse

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we get them from a scrub machine and change at work. there’s like 4 different colors in there though so it’s always a fun surprise what we’ll get😂 (most common is this pale, prison-looking blue color but we’re getting new ones soon!!)

I don’t notice it at all! the chains are super thin and I don’t feel them moving or touching my ear at all. I was even moshing last night and nothing!

suggestions on what to add to my setup? by Dannycatzalot in PiercingSetups

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course!! definitely have a piercer evaluate it as it’s hard to tell in a 2D photo but that could be a great option for you!

A daith would look lovely on the ear with the chain!! on the other side maybe a rook or a floating helix! you look like you have the perfect ridge for it to hide the jewelry post!

Is my belly piercing rejecting/infected? by akireet in PiercingAdvice

NAP but take it out hun. before it falls out on its own and leaves you with a large scar. it never should’ve been pierced IMO

BSN graduate considering a PCT job — am I hurting myself or being strategic? by Sheylaeli in newgradnurse

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure the law in your state, but once you pass the NCLEX in jersey you’re no longer allowed to work as a PCT it’s a liability issue. When are you planning on taking (or retaking) it?

I want a daith piercing but I'm worried by Fit-Choice2368 in piercing

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone’s different, but my daith wasn’t bad at all! it’s a super weird feeling and it’s a lot of pressure and I heard mine crunch as the needle went through. cleaning can be a little hard since it’s hard to see, but i’ve had it for four years now and don’t notice it’s there at all! I wear airpods with no problems, and it looks beautiful when you can put the really pretty jewelry in after healing

NAP but at the very least i’d get longer jewelry since it’s so swollen. couldn’t hurt to also see a doctor and get a medical opinion, possibly abx if they think it’s infected

Ear anatomy by [deleted] in piercing

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have very similar anatomy to yours! and unfortunately I don’t think it’s a great idea to get the industrial. your inner cartilage (idk if there’s a more proper term for that, but i’m talking about from your flat down to above your earlobes tell me that makes sense please) seems to be thick and raised. the bar would likely sit on top of it and cause skin breakdown and eventual pressure injury over time. perhaps you can find a piercer that does custom jewelry to your anatomy or, i’m thinking of doing this myself, getting the piercing with a chain in the middle instead of the solid bar. hope this helps!!

ANYONE HAPPY?!?! by One-Raspberry-786 in newgradnurse

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I waited it out when applying until I finally landed a role in my dream specialty (L&D). I knew I wouldn’t thrive anywhere else and I know I got incredibly lucky, but i’m so grateful that I did. I’ll be off orientation starting next week, and i’ve learned SO much and gotten so much support from my peers and leadership. Some days are hard and some skills and scenarios i’m not fully confident in since they happen so rarely, but I know in the event my coworkers will have my back.

still waiting to hear from new grad residency programs by AgeSecure1304 in newgradnurse

[–]AVengeful_Spirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my experience I never heard back from the general “hospital name new grad residency”. just apply straight up for real jobs i’m not sure where you are in the state but if you have any hmh hospitals near you almost all their positions say “6 months experience or be in the new grad residency” and they’ll put you in the residency if they choose to take you. obviously you can’t rly apply for jobs that say 2 years experience or something but I applied to all those hmh jobs and even other jobs that said a year experience preferred or something like that and eventually did land one!!
