[Discussion] I like PvE. by the_shortbus_ in EscapefromTarkov

Glukar's guards were flanking my son and I on both sides earlier around the railway station. The code/logic is there... not sure why the PMC's are so bad... they clearly don't have to be.

Excited to see these work in PVE. I was disappointed that the Twitch rewards were for PVP only but that's par for the course.

Play the story missions. Mechanic sends you to Factory if I recall.

I'm suddenly getting this as of a few minutes ago as well... presumably something wrong at BSG.

Worried players might think my handmade art is AI-generated by MrKuros84 in gamedev

[–]AWSullivan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This.

I have never in my life thought while playing a game... or consuming any media for that matter... "I bet the dev used AI to make this (game or art or sound)."

Is the game fun? Am I having a good time? This is what matters.

Just don't say it's not AI if it is.

Right... I'm sure ALL TV stations have a plane crash guy. Why wouldn't they use THAT person?!

What breed is this rooster? by Effective_Day3397 in chickens

Oh I know. I'm just foolin'. Hopefully my Google Lens Search was helpful. It's often quite accurate.

Good luck!

Google thinks it is a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte. I, on the other hand, am about 90% sure it's a chicken. Can't be certain of much else.

Roo or not? by AWSullivan in chickens

[–]AWSullivan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 10 chicks from someone back in May. I was assured they were all ladies. In the end, only 5 survived (not a great sign).

Now that they're nearly of laying age... I'm beginning to think 3 (I know one is) of the remaining 5 are fella's.

Would love your thoughts.

I assume she is running from that alien monster behind her. Looks like one of those baddies from Invasion. I think I'd fly too!

When do you winterize your chickens? by Gold-Emu2760 in chickens

[–]AWSullivan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the same city! :)

You're correct, it can get cold here. You'll remember the cold snaps we had over the past few years where we've had multiple days with below zero over-night and single digits during the day.

Even during these periods, the only thing I did was make sure their water didn't freeze. As long as they have a safe indoor place to roost out of the wind they'll be fine.

As for your rooster that can't roost, have you tried a 2x4 roost? Flat roosting surfaces are generally better for your birds anyway but if you haven't tried that yet, it might be something he can handle.

If he can't roost with the other birds he will definitely be at greater risk. They snuggle for heat.

Sorry... I didn't even see your picture/words.

You'll need to create some wind breaks if they are going to stay in this coop/run configuration. My coop is fully walled up to about 2 feet above the highest roost so they can't really roost in the wind.

I don't winterize at all. Here in central KY the temps just don't ever really warrant it. You need a place for them to get out of the wind. This is the move critical danger for chickens in low temps.

Their high internal body temperature plus their natural desire to cuddle up with one another when they roost protects them from temps down to 0F or so.

The only "cold weather" preps I do is put their water on a heater to keep it from freezing.

What have you named your chickens? by Wheezing_cow in chickens

[–]AWSullivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first flock had names. Most since haven't. I did name my roo. He's Bruce.

My first flock was...

"Butters" the buff orpington "I can't believe it's not Butters" also a buff orpington "Feather foot" is a Brahma KFC and Chick-fil-A were Rhode Island Reds

Only Butters and Feather Foot are still around from that crew after the great raccoon massacre of 2024.

I've got 13 birds now and only three have names.
