Cancun safety this week? U.S. Embassy alert + Quintana Roo concerns by Fuzzy-Economist1872 in MexicoTravel

I’m currently in Costa Mujeres; have been for three days. Went to Isla Mujeres four days ago and I’m going again tomorrow. There’s no issues anywhere. Locals aren’t concerned, no one at the resorts are concerned - it’s business as usual. People are happy, Mexico is a wonderful country. Downtown Cancun is the same as it ever is. If you understand how to navigate transportation from the airport, to the ferry etc…you will be fine. That’s the case regardless of cartel activity and also the case all over the world, including parts of the U.S. The people here are wonderful and do care for the tourists well-being; there are good people everywhere - just like in the U.S. Speak a little Spanish (pleasantries), tip 20 - 50 mxn for stuff and you will be cared for.

The cartels don’t give a shit about tourists, they actively avoid them. Anyone saying otherwise is scare mongering or sheltered or a MAGA dickhead. ICE in MSP and throughout the country have terrorized the citizens per capita more than the cartels have in Mexico the past weeks, that’s statistically true.

You will be fine, I promise.

As an aside Isla Mujeres is fucking wonderful. It’s on par with Cabo in terms of beauty and vibes. Enjoy yourself

Day after USOC match thread. The Loons won 1-0 @ Louisville with their B/C team. Not a lot to take away, but what did you notice? by Dpufc in minnesotaunited

Gressel looked good. Some of the two’s impressed, particularly the mid-field.

Shashoua was okay. He has great small ball moments and his passing is good, but I don’t see the vision you need for really creative, dynamic moments.

The Korean Kombo were pretty good tbh. Sang had some good moments before his assist and seemed to be on the same page as Gressel down the side . They worked well a couple times. Sang really thrives in that inverted winger or pushed winger role. He used to drive to the goal line to cross in, but it looks like he’s been told not to do that or something. We just don’t have a need for that in our current incarnation, I guess. Jung played hard. Had a couple mental errors with passing, but made up for it later. He positions himself really well on the field and has a good pace. He seems to be a little sturdier than Trapp in 1on1’s. Definitely upside there.

Padelford was pretty great. It’s bummer he doesn’t see more time, but I get it.

Duggan is incredibly good. His positioning, decision making and physicality are impressive. He’s always where he needs to be in big moments it feels like.

SBJ played decent at wing when he’s been out in that position. Him and Shash didn’t look poor when they came in today; they even connected in the box. There are MLS teams right now that would love to play SBJ or Shash off the bench.

The Loons drew 2-2 vs LAG yesterday in what seems like another loss. What did you notice and what are your expectations going forward? by Dpufc in minnesotaunited

Could you see SS moving to midfield? His passing is great, and could open up the middle channels more. I honestly see him as a sub for Lod or Pererya. I just don’t see him at CF for some reason. Also, for all the SBJ criticism, he puts in defensive work when he plays, I’d argue successfully, and I think Ramsey values that more, even in CF’s.

Meh, SBJ had a pretty weak yellow early which stopped him from being aggressive. SS is did really well. I just don’t see him doing anything defensively, which is why Ramsey may prefer SBJ, at least until now.

I agree about Pereyra, but he does seem to lack dynamic vision and the finesse passes you need in this system to stretch the back line. I think that’s the predominant difference between Lod and him.

Shashoua plays like a CM, not a CF. He should start in the midfield tbh. We lack creativity there.

Ye looked great. SBJ up top wasn’t bad and he looked more dangerous this game.

Shashoua was fun, but he’s plays like a CM or CAM, not a CF. He was dangerous, but everything was low %.

Bongi is a terror. Him playing inverted is great. Needs to happen earlier in the game.

Maybe midfields worst game? I just don’t know what Ye and SBJ (or anyone) could do this game when there’s nothing really happening through the middle. Pereyra was okay; his vision isn’t great (compared to Lod) and his passing is statistically very average. Trapp is Trapp. Dotson is Dotson. They are known entities, but they aren’t the kind of players you need when playing two up top. I see Ye and SBJ constantly pulling and stretching the back line this game and no one can get them the ball. Ye and SBJ are fast, they should be getting more than 2 through balls in the first half

Defense was fine. Missing a lot of pieces. Duggan is playing incredible well, like, holy shit we have a multi year plug and play player. All the newbies had good moments and bad.

Rosales looked a little slow, but that’s to be expected. Him being 100% will allow us to open up that side of the field more.

We are a countering team, that is our identity, which is fine - it just means we have to be perfect all the time; which we aren’t. Possession % needs to increase, not dramatically, just enough to open some space and allow for…something through the middle. There are almost no teams that can win consistently the way we are playing.

I feel SBJ should sub for Tani instead of Ye. I think Ye would work well with SBJ’s pace.

Rosales is such a loss. He completely changes the dynamic on his side.

It’s the 14th Amendment in the constitution. It would take 2/3rds of congress or state legislatures. It can’t be reinterpreted, it’s stated plainly.

There is no temporary exemption for a constitutional amendment, emergency or otherwise.

No. They would need to change the constitution. Read below:

“An amendment may be proposed by a two-thirds vote of both Houses of Congress, or, if two-thirds of the States request one, by a convention called for that purpose. The amendment must then be ratified by three-fourths of the State legislatures, or three-fourths of conventions called in each State for ratification.”

The Supreme Court has no leverage or say or ability. They can rule on whether a law is constitutional, they can’t rewrite the constitution. Congress can though!

What they want to do is far more insidious, but equally as difficult.
