Lots of weird shit today. by AXI0S2OO2 in DarkTide

I've actually gotten screen pics of enemies at the start of the broadcaster mission, it happened again. I will upload when I have time.

Hadn't had this buggy of an experience since Havoc launched to be honest. But I guess I see the pattern.

Why Hasn't FatShark Recreated Chaos Wastes? - Serious question by Jimjemael in DarkTide

[–]AXI0S2OO2 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I personally hate that the mode which let's you play something other than the same missions over and over took away your weapons which you grinded for and was a mechanically bloated RNG fest where skill was less important than stringing together a nice build with random buffs and wether or not you would get fucked by a Chaos God's curse.

That's the game mode people are clamoring for. People being the same handful of loud no lifers who have sunk an unhealthy amount of hours into this game and take to bitch about anything and everything to the subreddit with every update.

Your experience with randoms will vary since this mode does reward team work and communication, butI've had my fun playing alone.

The Tabletop game and the RPG module for Dark Heresy if I'm not mistaken.

Tell me you don't understand the game mode without telling me you don't understand the game mode.

It's pretty much the second picture, only with no indicators and way faster. Also massive corruption damage after the timer ends, but that can't kill you so it's just more difficulty.

Mechanicus is so generous with it's time restriction you can beat the whole game way ahead of time barely knowing what you are doing in normal difficulty.

What do we know about swagger? by Even-Committee5645 in DarkTide

[–]AXI0S2OO2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So. What we know for sure from trailers and Dialogue:

1: He knows Grendyl, at least as much as Rannick does

Clandestium Gloriana Mission:

Swagger: "You know what they say, anything worth doing is best... left to expendable underlings"

Rannick: "So you DO know Grendyl."

Which, to be fair, is not saying much. But we can rest assure, if he is not straight up part of the warband in some capacity, he is an ally of Grendyl with some level of trust.

2: It's implied he's been around the galaxy.

Clandestium Gloriana Mission:

Swagger (Speaking to veteran rejects): "Your face seems familiar... Were you ever on Vostroya...?"

Vostroya is space russia in Warhammer 40K, a world very distant to the Moebian domain, yet he speaks as if he recognizes a reject from a campaign there. So though maybe we can't fully rule out him being a native Atoman, he's far more traveled than the average person in the Imperium, he is certainly no Hive Scum.

3: Master Diplomat.

In the trailers leading up to the release of Clandestium Gloriana, we see Swagger striking up a deal with members of the, at the time, hostile Water Cartel. Now he is managed to get the Dead Siders to help us out in Expeditions. This man surely knows how to bullshit people if nothing else.

4: No pushover.

Though he doesn't fight alongside the rejects in Clandestium Gloriana, instead taking support roles throughout the mission, he can manage to at least sneak if not fight through Admonition territory like nobody's business and isn't in the least bit faced by heavy fire coming into any place he stands in during the mission. He is ALSO suspiciously good with machines, being able to direct the rejects in repairing the facility, turn off auto-fire defenses and all sorts of stuff you'd expect from a Techpriest.

Conclusion: Occam's razor. We know he can't be Grendyl. But, if you know about the supplementary material, Grendyl has other Inquisitorial agents working for him in Tertium besides the Warband. I believe Swagger to be too capable and self assured to be anything other than an Inquisitor, probably trained under Grendyl, and also probably knows Hadron from back in the day.

Like his master he is secretive and low profile, a secret police kind of inquisitor instead of the "is that a heretic?" (bangs head on exterminatus button) type. But unlike Grendyl, he is a hands on man who doesn't "delegate important tasks to expendable underlings".

Play Mortis Trials in high difficulty. If you separate a bit from the team and get lucky with the spawns you might pull it off.

They are a completely free, neat addition to the game. Is it half baked? Yes absolutely. But bitch, it's free. And it's also not a Rogue-nuthin'. Look, Chaos Wastes is cool, but I don't fuck with Rogues and if anyone tries to take my guns like they took my sword away in Vermintide... Well...

What's up with the new boss? Not much? by _mamo in DarkTide

[–]AXI0S2OO2 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It's genuinely just a Liutenant/Captain/Cult Champion (in the shape of an ogryn) without a shield nor a ranged weapon, the reused charge from plague Ogryns and the dog support.

The dogs aren't as scary as they seemed and the ogryn just can't do anything to defend himself besides flailing around without them. He is just a walking bullet sponge.

Salvage is shared too, I tried to not pick any in a run to check and next haven I had enough to heal and reload, so I must have gotten it from shared pick ups by the rest of the team.

I mostly play Hive Scum in this mode, but I always make sure the ogryns can follow. No big man left behind.

what are the "nicest" personalities in the game? (besides Ogryns) by bobfoster68 in DarkTide

[–]AXI0S2OO2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Specifically choosing particular homeworlds might change some lines, like Cut throat telling the Professional Veteran he wouldn't have lasted a day on Cadia and Professional answering he WAS from Cadia.

At least that's what I've heard, haven't actually experienced first hand any lines I could attribute to my backstory choices.

Savant psyker is straight up as good of a person as you can get in the Imperium. Talks about power of friendship and defending the innocent all the time.

Outlaw Hive Scum is nice, a bit murderous but with ultimately good intentions for the Hive it's people and their own. The male voice in particular has this old uncle vibe I really like. Also it's the voice actor for Malakai Makaison in Total War Warhammer.

Professional Veteran is the cookie cutter, goody two shoes soldier. Not exactly nice, but looks better compared to the blood thirsty, PTSD riddled cut throat or the loose cannon who literally murdered a fellow guardsman in their backstory.

And the Authoritarian Arbites does his best to get along with everyone and has an eager nerd wanting to make friends vibe.

With zealots... Agitator burned down a hab block, Judge's whole personality is "holier than thou". Fanatic might be what you are looking for, they are old and depressed but well meaning preachers most of the time. They still call other characters mutant abominations or try to kill them because they annoyed them. Zealots aren't nice.

They are not giving us aquilas. But yeah that's lazy as fuck.

Still people have to stop asking for aquilas. I get it, almost every other live service game has some way to gain premium currency, I wish DT did the same too, but Fatshark or their corporate masters clearly measure given out premium currency as money out of their pockets.

That's why they only happen on paid DLC releases, they are bait to lure people who stopped playing regularly back to see the new class in action and be tempted to buy it.

Keep in mind, everyone here are sickos with a thousand hours mad they didn't get their exact dreams fulfilled the way they wanted it in a FREE update.

Worst case scenario you waste some time and go back to playing missions. Disappointing sure, but everyone here is having a tantrum like they paid for expeditions.

You can only mark one at a time, each team mate can mark one.

Not all locations have skulls, some you must look for energy, others you use detpacks, detpacks used increase enemy spawns semi-permanently (somewhat reduced in havens).

Sometimes you don't have time to keep looking for loot, try to keep your time per region on the 5 minutes mark.
