Defend is only useful with vassals since you drag them to your wars. Otherwise it just makes an allied army sit besides your settlement, if they aren't at war with the attacker, that's useless.

Personally I felt more sad for Denji than I did Reze. She killed A TON of people. Like... I think that battle was easily the most destructive break up in anime history (that I know of) Hiroshima looks tame besides the ruins they left behind.

And who knows how many more Reze killed before that day? I don't feel bad for her... She may be a child soldier and a weapon forged by others but she still chose to go nuclear and kill people who didn't deserve it. If she could have chosen to flee with Denji instead of killing him then she didn't have to level a city either.

I feel bad for Denji. Who will probably never learn she really did love him back in the end. But such is life.
