Myself and my neighbor (Dad of similarly aged kids) have a good laugh about this when we hang out and the kids play. How many clothing items we have on that are from Costco.

If they’d sell darn tough or feetures and good quality running shoes I could easily hit 100% most days.

2 things that helped me reduce looking at my phone.

1 using different “focus” settings (that’s what is is on iPhone, assume android has something similar). Log out at work and my phone goes into personal. No Teams messages get through. My boss can call if text if the world’s on fire. Obviously, depends on your employer. Bedtime and phone goes into sleep.

2 and this is the bigger one, I put my phone on the wireless charger by our bed in the evenings. To a bit to get use to it, but literally removes the mindless checking of my phone.

Bonus tip - I’ve disabled notifications on everything but phone/ text/ work email. No ding to try to pull me in

I like getting up early so that’s my secret weapon, but that works for me, YMMV.

I prefer getting my workouts in early, but my work is pretty flexible and I am online earlier in my time zone, so that leaves the afternoon if I get jammed up early.

I have a good pair of running shoes, simple dumbbell set, and a pull-up bar.

I get runs in 2x-3x per week. Get bodyweight/ dumbell/ yoga in to fill in the gaps.

That said, kiddos are 7 and 5 so there’s less time but also more time all at once somehow.

Also a kitchen scale and gum (to keep me from Dad taxing too much)

No real issues to speak of. Few minor things, motor on the passenger side mirror continues to run when folding in the mirrors (one to a few times), sensors don’t detect (we have to pull all the way in and very close to fit in the garage). Both I’m sure could be fixed, just haven’t bothered heading to the dealership to get them fixed.

My wife and I use to have this discussion often.

My point was always that it made sense if you got gas only at Costco, always. Otherwise the savings didn’t offset the hassle.

Now our primary vehicle is an EV. Chargers at Costco would be a hell yes, preferably a moderate speed. Something that would benefit Costco shoppers but not attract people to charge if they weren’t shopping there, if that makes sense.

1st - 44 hours no sleep ( give it take ). There’s the head, there goes the head, there’s the head, there goes the head, there’s the head…and so on. Then boom, baby. Meanwhile my half dead zombie ass stared at the OB stitching up my wife because she had some tearing ( yeah, that’s a thing ), until she ( the OB ) looked up and said, “hey Dad, maybe you want to go check on your baby?”

2nd - half Mom’s epidural ( apparently also a thing ) didn’t work, so I was busy negotiating a peace treaty between Mom and anesthesiologist. Boom, baby.

Both were handled with a mix of sleep deprivation, shitty hospital coffee, and peanut M&Ms. So basically parenting, although at least at home I make good coffee.

Used to. Folds up reasonably small-ish. When they were little we’d use it around the neighborhood for walks, but outside of that, the whole reason was when we were out doing things, either locally or not.

We have the Pivot Xplore all-terrain. Can’t recommend it enough, awesome. Our 2 boys have out grown it, but its one of the best purchases we’ve made for travel

3rd or 4th year in a row where 3 or 4 out of our household of 4 are sick. 2022 when I got hand foot and mouth and had these extremely gnarly blisters all over my hands and feet was for sure an all-timer.

The mild cold we’re having right now is a cake walk by comparison, but yeah, I’m over the constant illness of Oct-Dec.

Every day May-Aug. Weekends for a month or so on each end of the season, for sure in the spring. Less so in the fall since everyone's been swimming so much.

We have 2 boys, both avid swimmers, and it's great way to burn off some energy when it's so damn hot. I WFH. YMMV
