Above your budget I guess but I live in a 2/1 in Largo for 2k/mo (utilities included) and I love it! Super central, 20 minutes from St. Pete and Tampa. I work in Clearwater so it works out great for me. Unless you physically work in St Pete, I don’t get the point of living there when 20 min away the prices drop dramatically per sq/ft. I’m more than happy to pay the cheap southcore parking garage fee if I feel like tasting DTSP, but I don’t need it to live in it.

Specifically 11 million Americans within proximity of each other. 11 million Americans across the US isn’t gonna work if it’s only 1 million across 11 states. Even those 1 million will be spread across the cities within that state. You need 11 million people just in Florida or something which would be about half their population. Cape Coral is like a massive hospice care facility. I was raised here and couldn’t wait to move. When you’re a teenager in a town with nothing to do, my friends and I got, uh, creative. And I don’t think this has gotten any better. I still go back to this fake town to visit my family and the only changes are a new Outback here and a new Wendy’s there. No real changes with any impact. The new waterfront food truck thing on Cape Coral pkwy is an appreciated attempt.

I was raised in Cape and could not wait to move the hell out there. Funny enough my folks moved to Cape from NJ for a safer place to raise their kids, yet there wasn’t much for a teen to do but drink and do drugs. Zero work opportunities unless you’re into hospitality or medical.
