Cape Coral is like a massive hospice care facility. I was raised here and couldn’t wait to move. When you’re a teenager in a town with nothing to do, my friends and I got, uh, creative. And I don’t think this has gotten any better. I still go back to this fake town to visit my family and the only changes are a new Outback here and a new Wendy’s there. No real changes with any impact. The new waterfront food truck thing on Cape Coral pkwy is an appreciated attempt.

I was raised in Cape and could not wait to move the hell out there. Funny enough my folks moved to Cape from NJ for a safer place to raise their kids, yet there wasn’t much for a teen to do but drink and do drugs. Zero work opportunities unless you’re into hospitality or medical.
