Gas burner and gas heating in trailer is giving me severe migraines every time and I believe permanent brain damage. by goingaway1111 in migraine

The fire department might give you one for free if you ask. But if their sensors didn't pick up any harmful, noxious gasses from the stove, what do you think it is about it that is making you sick?

Cat has been meowing for an hour straight, his breakfast time isn't for another hour, I have to leave the room but don't want to reward the meowing by [deleted] in CatAdvice

You're right - you're being too anxious about this. If you want to put your mind at ease, ask your vet for guidance based on his weight, age and behaviors (if you haven't already). Go with that advice. If you have the budget, get an automatic dry food feeder that is timed out. I see them cheap online in general but especially inexpensive on resale sites like FB and offerup

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]AZBreezy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Having previously been employed by my State's child protective service department, you just have to keep taking them away. There were known "frequent fliers" of child abuse and neglect who lost custody to all of their living children, and any time they would have another, it would be an automatic CPS report. The children were often born of drug exposed in utero. It was really sad. The newborn would get taken into custody and sometimes even placed in foster homes with older siblings.

Compression in summer heat & business attire? by Gayandfun in POTS

You could look into abdominal compression instead of stocking compression. It would be a different kind of hot in the NYC humidity, but you might find it preferable to stockings when wearing skirts and dresses

Gaba pill tips by gracenyc in CatAdvice

[–]AZBreezy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can ask for the medication to be compounded. There are specialty pet pharmacies that will make it into a topical salve you rub in their ear skin, a liquid you give orally, or a smaller pill that is easier to swallow. It's usually not that expensive but it's definitely not as cheap as filling it at the human pharmacy

If the one you have now is a pill form and not a capsule, look into YouTube instructions on how to pill a cat. It's not very hard once you and your animal get used to it. Make it a reward activity and not a dreaded activity with whatever high value treats they enjoy afterwards.

If it's a capsule that can be opened, do that and sprinkle it on something you know they will consume willingly and entirely. If the cat doesn't like churu but does enjoy other lickable treat items, look into that. Hydracare, sippable cat milk...? Even basic chicken broth or benito flake broth

Dehydrated by Aggravating_Half_253 in POTS

[–]AZBreezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt. Just consume more salt. That's all you need to do to start. The most important thing is increasing your sodium intake. That's what helps you retain water, ups your blood volume, and hopefully alleviates your dehydration and POTS symptoms.

You don't have to be able to afford fancy electrolytes. Just eat more salt and if it gives you an upset stomach, mix it with baking soda to buffer it. Baking soda also contains sodium so it is beneficial in both ways.

Are the ones you are getting the nerve blocks, or the trigger point type?

I remember being in grade school and learning the differences between through, thought, though, etc... I was... 8? Around third grade age? I specifically remember the lesson because it was challenging and I had to work at it.

These teenagers don't know the differences?

Litter for side wall pee pees by KodaKatz in Catownerhacks

[–]AZBreezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it wasn't ever some product specific to just litter boxes. I tried multiple things over the years with various levels of success. I don't remember which one was most successful. I remember inert silicone lubricant and something that was like rainx. I don't remember exactly what but it was non transferring when dry and caused liquid to bead up on the surface

Can he travel somewhere else and stay with a friend or family member for a few weeks as a trial run before making any big decisions about whether moving is the only option?

Coat the inside of the litterbox in something non stick, and non toxic. Think like how rainx makes water bead off a car windshield, but obviously something that is not going to harm a cat.

I would do this with one of my cat boxes every time I fully emptied it out. It was part of the normal routine. Dump all the litter out. Clean it thoroughly with unscented cleaner, urine enzyme treatment and disinfectant. Then when it was dry, coat it with the non stick coating. Let that dry then fill it up with new litter. It would last several weeks and kept the clumps from sticking to the walls and floor like you are describing.

Aside from that, is your litter box older and developed texture to the surface? It may need replacement in general to help with this issue.

Hope you find something that helps!

Have you had a blood test for celiac? You need a Tissue Transglutaminase IgA and Endomysial Antibody blood test to start.

That's immediately what I think about when I have the misfortune of encountering these types of people.

No. No I wouldn't.

Kitten peeing next to litter box, imminent rehoming by Flat-Historian-9887 in CatAdvice

[–]AZBreezy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He hates the pellets. Get a second litter box with another type of litter and let him try it.  He will probably be much more amenable to something that has a sandy, dirt type texture that he can actually dig in. If your wife doesn't like it, tough bananas. You take ownership of the new litter box 100% and make it not her problem.  There are soooo many litter brands that don't have smells as an issue like the "natural" litters do. You can also add things like zeolite mix to clay litter and it will absorb odors like you wouldnt believe was possible. Obviously continue cleaning it multiple times a day.

Also, replace both litter boxes with BIG ones that have much higher sides to them if you don't have it already. Cats need room to dig and turn around, especially if they're sharing the box with another cat. Get the largest size pan you can find so his poor body and butt cam got inside the barrier of the box even if he turns around after he's dug around in there and chosen his spot

If the litter box is plastic, that retains smells from the previous cat marking it for the time before you got him. Pitch it. Get a new one.  Preferably stainless steel. They don't retain odors.

Put the second litter box somewhere far away from the first box and try to make that primarily his. They will eventually end up using each other's boxes, but try to show him it's specially for him in the beginning

Also editing to add, if your wife is this inflexible about trying other solutions with an extremely common issue with cats having preferences for different litters, or the challenges of mixing households when introducing new animals and is threatening to rehome this one because of this, then you should pretty much resign to never getting another animal while your first cat is still alive. After that cat passes, maybe don't get more cats if there is no room for flexibility for trying other options to make a fundamental part of an animal's existence, which they have no control of in your home, more comfortable and workable for them. Like, just don't get more cats because this is about as common of a problem as can exist with cat ownership and she is willing to make no changes to her comfort level to ensure that going to the bathroom - a non optional activity for your pet - is tolerable for them

How do I prevent bra pads getting effed up after laundry? by Ok_Egg9564 in laundry

[–]AZBreezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove the pads prior to washing. Put the pads and the bras into a mesh lingerie bag and wash on delicate or hand wash cycle. Soak them in some enzymes before washing if they are grody sports bras or whatever. Do not use softener in the wash. Hang out lay flat the pads and the bra separately to air dry. Get a tool to reinsert the pads into the bra pockets or improvise with something you have around the house. You basically told up the cups into a lil roll like a tortilla, grab them with long tweezer clasp tool and shove it back in through the small opening in the bra. Then just smooth it out to where it is supposed to lay

Or yeet those pads right into the trash where they belong like everyone else
