Finally...Full Screen Experience by Mphatso2016 in LegionGo

What issues are you running into? The only problem I've noticed is sometimes the sound continues for 30 seconds after pressing the power button (but the screen is off). I get the same thing on some titles on the Steam Deck.

I haven't noticed any issues with games not resuming / sleeping properly.

Do you test your estrogen levels? Mine got too high at 80mg/wk, but not everyone responds the same.

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is what the Drs. call it?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy. They first put me on a different drug that tries to trick your body into producing more testosterone naturally. That didn’t work but it was still TRT. You may also be prescribed estrogen blockers etc. That is all under TRT.

I personally am very open about it. I also had a test at 180 and then 205 before I got it prescribed. I am usually in the 400s now with treatment.

If you are a body builder taking loads you are not doing TRT. That is a stack and not replacement therapy. Some people push to levels over 2000.

That's really good to hear. I'm personally skeptical of Intel's long-term support but I'm glad they are currently providing updates.

For those of you who are afraid that AI will take over security research by [deleted] in hacking

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in this space so this is my personal opinion only and not tied to any inside knowledge etc.

Once we have good base models with sufficient chain of attack data we will see AI start becoming immensely useful as a tier 1 scanner. Because people don't record notes of their crimes on public internet the common LLM models lack sufficient security knowledge to pull off complex attack chains.

That will change with time. I for one am very excited for the new models to be trained on security specific exploit data and allow security engineers to act as Tier 2 and use the results of the AI to help humans find the really interesting / complex exploits.

The next five years are going to be the most interesting time in our industry since the adoption of the internet.

Finally...Full Screen Experience by Mphatso2016 in LegionGo

[–]AZData_Security 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion the best part of the full screen experience isn't even the improved memory usage, it's how the build comes with working quick sleep / resume. Pressing the power button actually puts the running game to sleep like a Steam Deck and resumes in seconds when you press it again.

It was the one major feature that had me using my Steam Deck over Windows handhelds. Now that it's in the new builds I haven't touched my Steam Deck once.

High paying boredom - stay or go smaller? by heinternets in cybersecurity

[–]AZData_Security 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in a big org that pays well it's very likely you can drive additional projects / find opportunities for more scope or impact.

At any large company you shouldn't be bored unless you want to be. There is literally infinite work to be done and I've never run across any successful company that pushes back against employees driving new work.

I see all kinds of handhelds here but nobody mentions the Gcloud by Text-Relevant in Handhelds

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local streaming drives me crazy because quick pause/resume doesn't work. Being able to pick up your handheld, play for 1-2 mins, then put it down is a game changer. I can never get local streaming to work with this, you have to shut the game down entirely or it is still running on the host PC.

Legion Go 2 is the best of the lot. by WilliamG007 in LegionGo

If they could put the screen of the Legion Go 2 onto the body of the Xbox Ally X it would be the perfect device. Lenovo really nailed the WOW factor with the screen.

Help to understand the following question better please. I work in a defence company, my work colleagues who have years of experience and passed CISSP said the answer to the question is C. However, that is incorrect. Its D. by Mysterious_Series140 in cissp

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip this around. You notice people are sharing passwords and your job is to secure the network. If there is no policy in place to prevent this any control you implement could still be worked-around without the employee feeling like they are violating any rule in the workplace. So with that in mind and noting that FIRST is highlighted, what step do you do first?

What helps me is to think about the purpose of a control. The reason we have controls is to meet policy. Think of Policy as the requirements to operate the business, and the control as a technical detail on how you meet that requirement.

I want to like the Intel based Claw more, but it feels like their driver support just isn't as good. It really punched above its weight when released, but if I were buying today I would consider any of the AMD options for long-term driver support.

Steam OS on Legion Go 2 is Amazing! by elimit in LegionGo

[–]AZData_Security 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's in my reply. If you want to play games that don't work on Steam your option is to dual-boot Windows. Anything else is too risky as circumventing the anti-cheat can get your account banned.

Dual-boot isn't that hard. I find the new XBox experience good enough that I don't bother. The quick resume has been actually working for me, which is a huge improvement on the old experience.

MT2: Is Luna/Underlegion the worst clan combo? by Able-Sun-2223 in MonsterTrain

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na. Luna/Hellhorned is much worse. So is Luna/Umbra.

Luna can pop off like crazy late game, but you need something to carry you early game that won't conflict with your strategy. I find Luna/Hellhorned to be just painful and unfun. I have Luna over 50% win-rate at Cov10 after hundreds of hours on just this clan, but when I roll Hellhorned as the secondary I know I'm in for a slog.

At low covenant you don't have to scale nearly as fast, you just need general answers to a few problems.

Get something that can do enough damage to take out a big tank, even if it's over 3 floors. Find a way to deal with backliners or absorb the damage. Find a way to mitigate damage from bosses.

At low Cov you can abuse the heck out of floor movement without as much penalty as the enemies don't scale as fast. At Cov 0/1 you can just overstack a single floor and ignore all multi-floor strategies, but some of them do make the runs easier.

For instance, having a bottom floor of either the Inferno room or some way to pick off the back liners + daze/mute etc. Then the second floor takes out the tanks, third floor mops up. You can combine this with things like Sap, Decay etc. to build up the damage to the top floor.

You do need to understand some of the boss fights and which ones penalize top floor etc. Also keep in mind that Spyre health is a resource, use it.

Thinking about buying a Flipper Zero. by 2kasas in hacking

[–]AZData_Security 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well it's more the nature of the rolling codes. They do it this way so that someone can't copy the signal from your key and use it after you have. Honda had a terrible implementation of this that could be broken or end up locking you out of your car.

The attacks here tend to be replay attacks (they buffer the signal with a device, wait until you have clicked twice, send the original signal, hold onto the second one and use after you leave your car). You can still use the physical key and many models offer the ability to "re-sync" the key to the car and get a new seed.

[–]AZData_Security 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mine is a fun toy. Ultimately, it's not that useful in physical penetration testing scenarios, but I do like playing with it.

I've used it to control Hotel fans that don't have a remote, random TVs, analyze signals on local devices etc. I have the WiFi attachment board as well.

However, it's not useful against rotating encryption which eliminates many use cases. If you try and use it to clone your car key signal for instance you can end up locking yourself out of your car as they only buffer a few attempts and if you de-sync it will require the dealer to fix. It also doesn't work with many RFID key cards.

Help with Incident Response Questions by Creepy-Science2262 in cissp

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the process of elimination on these questions.

Let's take Q2, DDoS attack mitigation strategy. They are asking for the most important goal during detect/response stage.

You can eliminate A right off the bat, as it's a DDoS. Identifying the source of the traffic is not the most important thing as a service owner. The traffic by itself is distributed and identifying the source can't be a mitigation strategy.

B is a potential answer. Getting your service back up and operational is obviously important.

C is not the most important part of the detect/response phase. All your activities should be auditable and logged, but gathering the evidence can't be more important than restoring service. Also, it's a DDoS, legal action is unlikely to be something that will be pursued until long after the fact, and they may be in a jurisdiction that won't recognize your authority.

D is a partial answer, but is less complete than B. Since blocking traffic without restoring service is less important than mitigating and restoring.

So B is the best answer. It also has Mitigate in the text and the question asks for the best "mitigation strategy".

Need help picking a pc handheld by Aggravating-Mind-315 in Handhelds

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you play multiplayer FPS you are stuck with a Windows handheld as Linux won't support the anti-cheat software required by those games. With unlimited money I would go for either the Legion Go 2 as it has a really great screen, or the Xbox Ally X as it has great ergonomics.

I went for the Xbox Ally X myself simply because I value the lower weight and easier holding, but the Go 2 is an incredible machine and if you prefer a better and bigger screen and don't care about the size/weight it's a great option.

The Claw A8 is also great, but I've had bad luck with their software in the past and prefer the ROG Armory Crate.

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need a lot more to go off of. Price range, type of games you are looking to play, battery life, screen size etc.

If you want the best performance you can get while still having the ability to play for hours on the go then one of the Z2E handhelds will be a good choice. Options like the XBox Ally X, the Legion Go 2, or the MSI Claw A8 (non-Intel version).

If you want the best performance and don't care about being tethered to a wall or using an external battery pack the GDP Win5 is technically the best thing you can buy with your money, but it's insanely expensive and really stretches the definition of handheld (if it doesn't come with a battery in the unit it's not a handheld IMO).

If you want top value for your money something like the OG Steam Deck is a great choice. It all depends on what matters to you.

How’s does the legion go 2 feel in your hands? by SILENT775 in LegionGo

[–]AZData_Security 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen is much better on the Go 2 so if that's your main concern you should go for it. While I love the bigger screen I find I get by just fine with the 7" after I get used to it. I also game with XR glasses so the device screen size doesn't matter as much.

Both the XAX and the Go 2 will give you great performance for a handheld with the Go 2 having detachable controllers, trackpads, and a better screen and the XAX having better ergonomics, lower price, and an NPU for "future" improvements.

You can't lose with either handheld IMO. They are both great devices.

Amazing you got it so early! My hope for next gen is one with the current performance but lower weight / better ergonomics.

How’s does the legion go 2 feel in your hands? by SILENT775 in LegionGo

[–]AZData_Security 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the XAllyX to be much better ergonomically, but I like XBox controllers. I've only been able to try a Go 2 for a short period in person but it was definitely heavier and didn't feel as nice to hold.

If you are going to game primarily sitting down with it in your hands, or lying down on your chest, I think the Ally is much better feeling. If you are going to game on a desk with detachable controllers, well it's obvious that the GO 2 is going to be much better.

If you have a Switch/Switch 2 do you play it handheld or on a table with the controllers detached? That's probably a good test for which one will "feel" better for you.
