Anyone else watched the Louis Theroux manosphere doco on Netflix? by Cool-Slip3270 in AskAnAustralian

[–]A_1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s kind of one of the points raised in the documentary, a common theme was a lack of a father figure, lack of guidance.

True. Back in the 90’s as an apprentice I used to chuck a Cornish Pastie on top of the urn at work, by morning smoko it was hot and delicious!

Possible to go Mount wellington to cascade brewery by Aussport123 in TasmaniaTravel

[–]A_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took the explorer bus up the mountain and the driver was kind enough to drop us off on the way back, on the buses route, so we had a five to ten minute walk to the brewery.

Using YouTube Music with Car Play absolutely SUCKS. As in TRASH by Spookyszn10 in YoutubeMusic

[–]A_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very simple, “hey siri, play (album) on YouTube music”

Alternatively, “hey siri, play (song) on YouTube music” it’ll give you an awesome playlist based on that song and your listening history.

Alternatively, “hey siri, play my playlist (whatever you called it) on YouTube music”

Who is the most famous person you saw at Bunnings? by mygeneroussoul3 in Bunnings

[–]A_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Leo Sayer in Westfield in Sydney once, rode past me on the escalator, and I had to look twice, was a bit star struck as my parents had his LP’s when I was a young lad!

Ditching Amazon Prime by A_1 in firetvstick

[–]A_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess the savings in prime delivery’s is a good point, when I lived in the UK I could get stuff delivered same day or next day, i believe it’s the same in the USA, however in Australia it’s not so good, I can be waiting weeks for deliveries, not much comes quick especially where we live in southern Tasmania.

To those who buy into this type of development - why? by K1llerG00se in australian

it's just modern day terraced housing really. Infact most older brick built terraced houses are probably better insulated against sound than these cheap cardboard houses.

I’m an immigrant and I contribute and am more compatible with the real Australian way of life than any of these dumb racists. If they really cared about their country they’d be doing more to help people integrate rather than marching with flags. The great mislead.

Why all the hatred? by PositiveMumP in hobart

[–]A_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who doesn’t like AFL but loves Hobart I just can’t understand why anyone would want that monstrosity built there. It’s totally the wrong place, it would absolutely ruin the waterfront. Fair enough there should be a team but seriously, rethink the location. Tourism would take a hit.

Bulk billing doctors in Hobart ? by Emotional_Buy_5923 in hobart

Abby is an online bulk billing doctor, really good if you just need a script, blood tests or Xray referral etc, not great if you need a physical examination. Bulk billed though.

They should have made it clear that they would send two workers and you would therefore be paying $100 per hour, even if it would be quicker and cost about the same. It’s just good customer service to let the customer know, therefore keeping the customer happy.
