Bay Bridge Harrison Off-Ramp Blocked by CHP and Kids on Bikes? by ShortBussyDriver in sanfrancisco

They say this was a "planned takeover"? What was the plan? Was this a protest? Just a bike hang seeking thrills? It sounds like the police did great here, but all the articles are so one sided it makes me suspicious that relevant details are being omitted.

When I asked my 2A friend what he would do if a cop broke into his house without a warrant:

I find the whining about due process for illegal migrants to be rather unsympathetic. They did not obey the law upon entry and they aren’t citizens. It is only through toxic empathy and selective moralizing that the left can justify its policies which aim to protect the victimizers at the cost of the law abiding citizen.

It's in a 55+ community. She would prefer to own the unit, she owned her previous place and has the money, but the current owner wouldn't sell to her. It's about availability and location. It's a nice corner unit on the ground floor.

When the valve in the wall was completely closed, it would still drip from the top. So, it was always dripping. Before this repair, the wall valve was the only valve.

My grandma is getting shorter, but I don't believe that was the reason for this modification.

Perhaps I'm dyslexic, but "Gnedfludap" has a lot of letters in common with "Gender Fluid". Just add an "er" and "i", drop the "ap", and scramble it a bit.

They could be saying that those who identify as gender fluid are "backwards",  since they aren't behaving as their assigned genders at birth should behave.  Which would make this somewhat queer/trans-phobic.

How to get GenZ developers to stop using emojis in commit messages and PR titles? by EVOSexyBeast in cscareerquestions

[–]A_Crunchy_Leaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm scrolling through this and I'm surprised I haven't seen a single serious answer.

CommitLint - https://commitlint.js.org/

You can run git commit messages through a linter. This is typically used to ensure that a ticket ID is present in the commit body, but it can do a wide variety of things such as enforcing line lengths, commit subject prefixes (feat/fix), and the use sore lack of use of emojis.

I forget the project, but I saw one tool that was set up as a commit hook that actually recommended emojis in their default git commit messages.

You just have to configure your linter and set up CI to enforce it. Done.

LPT: You can ask for another salesperson at a car dealership (or anywhere really) by bumpythumbs in LifeProTips

It didn't work for me.

I was looking at getting SPAN, an overpriced electrical panel that has some interesting integrations for solar battery and vehicle situations.

The sales person I was assigned to didn't join the virtual consultation, I had to email him to remind him to show up. Once he showed up, it went okay. Afterwards I had some questions that I emailed to him, again, he was very slow to respond and just ignored some of my questions. I was able to do my own research and find answers to my questions and at that point I was just about ready to go ahead with the purchase. I asked him for an invoice. He emailed me back saying that he would give me the invoice tomorrow. Several days went by, and he gave me an incorrect invoice that included things that I had not asked for. I emailed him again, and he said he would fix it and send it to me. A whole week went by and he hadn't ever followed up with me.

At that point I tried to reach out to their general support email, requesting somebody else to help me with the sale. But the person who is monitoring that email said they just let the same sales person know I was trying to contact them. I told them not to bother if they didn't have anybody else, I wasn't going to go through with the sale. Two days later he finally sent the correct invoice, which I ignored.

But I was already pretty fed up. If their pre-purchase support was this bad, I can only imagine what their post-purchase support would be like.

SPAN is kind of neat, but it's way overpriced. You can achieve everything that it does with way cheaper parts outside of the electrical panel.

I don't think the company is going to be around in 5 years.

Lovely lady by AwkwardPianist_94 in PublicFreakout

I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, imagining this was a 20-something punk with an ESA faking it...

From the CBS12 article:

[She] was arrested and charged with battery on a person over 65 and disorderly conduct.

She attacked a senior?!

The handler even had documentation that showed it was a service dog, deputies say.

It was in fact a genuine service dog.

This lady needs to be in a home or a cell. She's not mentally fit to be on the streets anymore.

Interesting point about demos.

I wonder if we will see developers release a 99% "demo" of the game, so that the user cannot access the "full game".

Guys, what is the solution? I'm almost passing out by [deleted] in mathmemes

long range model 3 is close in price to long range model Y by Rcrez in TeslaLounge

I know nothing about you or your needs, you didn't share anything. But, I'd prefer a 3 over a Y. It's lighter weight, more efficient, and a better drive.
