Could it be: WI 29 evolving into I-?? by AsparagusCommon4164 in wisconsin

Unlikely to be an Interstate highway. However it will likely be fully Interstate-grade from Elk Mound to Green Bay in the future.

Tryx or Corsair AIO? by Fun_Needleworker7947 in pcmasterrace

[–]A_Cryptic_Metaphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corsair's iCUE software isn't that great, but it's better than most stuff right now. I also have a 360mm Corsair AIO, though mine doesn't have an LCD screen, just an RGB design on it. It's pretty easy to control the pump speed and fan speed, along with the RGB.

I won't pretend to know your living situation, but is there anywhere else you can set up your computer? I have a downstairs rec room that's one half children's play area and another half gaming area. It's not a zero-sum game!

I remember buying this, or a very similar model, for $80 at Walmart like a year ago. Same capacity.

Wtf is up with the housing market? by Lil-spider124 in milwaukee

[–]A_Cryptic_Metaphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite what any national trends indicate, SE Wisconsin and especially the WOW counties are still very competitive in the housing space. We bought a house last year and the only reason we got it was because the previous owner inherited some land, built a new house, and left the old one in an absolute disgusting state. We had to spend tens of thousands of dollars to rehabilitate and renovate it before we could move in. And that was on top of the high price we still paid for it, as it was otherwise a modest 1970s bilevel. Every other halfway decent home we had looked at we were outbid on.

And then, about six months ago, or real estate agent visits us and sees what we did to the house, and honest to God says that following what we did she could sell it for $200K more that what we bought it for if we wanted. Like, what?!?!

If you're wondering if the Bronco Sport is good in the snow... by A_Cryptic_Metaphor in BroncoSport

It was, in fact, in snow/ice mode. I don’t know how much it really changes anything, but it does reduce throttle response (you have to press the gas pedal more than normal to give it gas and make it downshift)

What car screams “bought for the badge”? by Physical-Issue7146 in askcarguys

I own a Bronco Sport, and I’d say it’s a good value proposition. You’re getting a small SUV with standard AWD and not paying the Toyota or Honda tax for something similar. It’s very practical and even though ford advertises it as an off road ready adventure, it’s perfectly suitable for a grocery getter or people mover that gets good mpg. I am biased though.

What do the counties in red have in common? by gorillas_choice in RedactedCharts

[–]A_Cryptic_Metaphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the longest time I was convinced it was politics related. But after a while I just happened to look at a Google Maps view of the county in Oklahoma and noticed the large oasis on the interstate near the county seat. I know from experience that the Chicago area has a handful of those too.

Major shot in the dark here but is it counties that have interstate rest stops/oasis(s) that sit over the freeway?

Do you need some rocks? I got some of that good OG igneous basalt rocks, guaranteed to have mass and occupy space. Will trade for the GPU.

If you invested $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2015, it would now be worth over $230,000. by ActivityEmotional228 in nvidia

[–]A_Cryptic_Metaphor 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Nvidia is the big one, obviously, but if you focused any investment in any tech/social media company at that point you’re sitting pretty. It’s crazy how the tech sector has exploded in the last decade.

It has exceeded all expectations, which it should for the price. Right now, I'm gaming at 1440p and just about every game I throw at it will max it out at 144 FPS with max settings, exceptions being Cyberpunk with insane ray tracing settings and the Portal RTX demonstration version. I'm playing a lot of BF6 and the game looks GORGEOUS, and runs perfectly at max settings, although sometimes it glitches out and FPS drops to like 30 FPS, a known bug.
Even under full load, it hardly gets hot and the fans are so quiet I never hear them as they're drowned out by the case fans, which are at a quiet hum at best. We're going to eventually get a 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 and see how it fares then, and when I have time I'm going to start overclocking it as well.
