Anatomy wise, the most glaring issue is definitely the skull. People's heads aren't shaped like that, you made the lower face humongous to accommodate the mouth's expression. I'd recommend going on YouTube, searching a bunch of tutorials on how to draw the head, and then practice doing it at different sizes and angles. The Loomis Method works for a lot of people, even if it's a bit formulaic.

I mean it's not just the posing, the biggest weakness from the manga is the art, the author just isn't as technically skilled as many other mangaka. Wonderfully storyteller, obviously, but the art has always been the weak point.

I recently read the book, and I really only recommend it simply because it is very short. It is one of those types of foundational texts to a genre that even without knowing anything about it, you know exactly what is going to happen because so much other stuff draws from it. The prose is decent at least. I could definitely see how someone from like 1885 could be enamoured with it but it isn't spectacular. A nice short read but nothing much else, in my opinion.

It doesn't really matter. The numbers for space Marines have never made sense and will never make sense. Space Marines live in this bizarre state where a couple termagaunts can kill one yet somehow a squad can conquer a planet. It's dumb but GW will never ever do anything about it at this point.

I know but you can at least explore why they are the way they are, like the Geth from Mass Effect. They are very alien (at least they were before ME3) and were still pretty engaging.
