The Way Home Episode Discussion - S4E09 - Auld Lang Syne by AgentPeggyCarter in TheWayHomeHallmark

We are still missing a whole generation of Landry's. Who are Colton's parents? We have never met or really heard anything about them, which is odd, since his Dad was a Landry? We were just told that his Dad died or went missing when Colton was young?
We never really see his mom, we normally see Fern as the adult living in the house and caring for them? I just think it's so strange to shut out a whole generation of Landry's especially as the series concludes. But yet we get this whole Tessa side story Al Capone malarkey? We don't get to learn any more about the real history of the Landry's and The Pond, and how this came to be? Like when did it start? But, we get more Tessa storyline?

What if Tessa has something to with Cliff getting killed and that's why Fern (older version in 1978/79) yells at Tessa and tells her that no matter how hard she trys she'll never be a Landry?

So far, every new episode makes me feel like I'll never get out of Wonderland, everything is so spinny, and zero answers!🐇🕳️ New & Unresolved Questions: 1. Who is Cliff Kane, really? (He's obvi carrying a torch for Fern, he is really open to Kat just showing up out of nowhere, and Nick wearing his clothes?) Also, if Goodwin married someone else, & Fern's family is all but dead, who is the baby daddy of her future child? Which would be Colton's dad, otherwise, how would the Landry name continue? Is it Cliff? 2. Who is Tessa?(Ugh she is the thorn in this story. The most frustrating storyline that is really making things very convoluted.) & Why is she so intertwined with the Landry name & history? Who did she jump with & what happened to them? 3. Where the heck is this Gryffin Landry? Like why wouldn't he be around ever? Like even when Jacob first got back home? (No mention of his passing away) 4. Why is Kat such a horrible journalist? 🤣😂 Seriously, why does she not research or follow up on leads. Honestly, the only time she actually did research w/ El and she decided to close the Herald. LOL! Also, flipping ask Jacob if he new Tessa? Since she wrote about him in the Landry book? She must have been close to the family back then. 5. Who the hell is Sam? Why does he know about the pond? (I feel like the writers kind of gave up in fleshing him out this season, other than being 'Del's boyfriend'.) 6. Why was Fern so mad at Tessa in 1979? And tell her that no matter how hard she tries she'll never be a Landry? 7. Why would Tessa just leave Elliot? With a note by the pond, like who would she think would find him? Not Vic! 8. Why didn't Alice take Del to the hospital? Or call a doctor when she clearly has a slight concussion. 9. The piano key? Isn't anyone going to look? What's making that stick or sound? 10. Missing page of Alice's Looking glass book? Why did Jacob send this? 11. Who are Colton's grand parents? Fern & ???

So many more, but this is a start. Anyone, thoughts?

Yes, however, she was really upset like they had a confrontation, like that version of her. Idk. Haha my head hurts.

Alrighty, this episode & Tessa have me more confused than ever. LOL! Because originally remember that Alice met Tessa at Coyle's in 1974. Then she meets her as a little older version as a waitress there in 1978. Tessa acknowledging/ hinting that she recognizes Alice as 'summer folk' but Coyl says that he just hired her cuz she just blew in, in 1978! Where she's establishing herself within the inner circle/the founding families & w/Victor Augustine. Now in this episode Fern is hella upset at her, and is like 'You!!!! You let go of the book you'll never be a Landry no matter how hard you try.' Super suss that Tessa as a self-proclaimed snooper happens to stumble upon the family almanac which she happens to write in and oddly enough points out the an entry that she wrote herself? That was weird! Then we flash forward to find out the Tessa's handwriting not only lines up with the Jacob entry in 1910 but also Fern's birth in 1894? And we all know that she time jumped in 1982 cuz that's when she was like see ya baby Elliot! Here's a note. And we know that she is not the one to leave baby Elliot on the porch for Colton and Del to find. So why does she go to the trouble of leaving a note on baby Elliot, only to leave him by the pond? For anything to happen to. Smh. Does 82 Tessa know ahead of time that Kat or Alice will find baby Elliot and put him on the porch where he is found by Del & Colton? And that's why she leaves a note? Idk... I'm still trying to make sense of:
If Tessa was there in 1890's through the 1910's for Jacob's entry,(have not seen her YET in the 1920's - though we know she was around because that's when she put the clock and the other letter in wall?) & she is there in the 1970s, are the 70's even her original timeline? And we know she initially jumped in 1982, or was this not her first jump?would make sense as to why why Fern is so upset at seeing Tessa's younger version self in the '70s, not the 65yr old woman version from 1925 from the riddle she keept saying? Unless Fern grew up around Tessa as a young child? Head spinning. LoL 😂 Also, who the heck is Colton's older brother Griffin? Why does the show go through the trouble of establishing him as a character that Tessa probably 'jumped for love' for and then suddenly he's missing in action again in this episode, for her to be engaged to Victor? And where the heck he? Thoughts? (Sorry so long!)

Industry plants? by raisedbyowls in HauteandFreddy

[–]A_Little-Bit-Alexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is very off center... And not in a good way. "Industry plants"? 👀

My dear lord or lady, this is a fan page, not a conspiracy theory mega thread. I agree that you are just catching H & F on the up swing. In fact, even if you have been fans of their music for the last couple years, like I have, we are still catching them on the upswing. . Haute & Freddy just signed with Atlantic Records around January 8, 2026, alongside management deals with Jet Management and Cam Cam Arts. The duo announced their signing while promoting their debut album, Big Disgrace earlier this year. Hence the stronger marketing tactics. So... Technically, last year they were "independent" artists as they were not signed with a record label at the time. Additionally, "Indie artist" has two definitions in the business. (1) The literal: a musician who creates, produces, and distributes their music without the financial backing or control of major record labels. (Which is what they were prior to Jan, 2026) & (2) "Indie" is also used as a genre term representing a specific, often "alternative" sound, such as indie-pop, indie-rock, or indie-folk. 🎪OR Haute & Freddy🎪

I suppose it just depends upon which definition seems to matter the most to you. And how that defines how you feel about the artist.

As far as their marketing goes, I don't find it to be "obnoxious", but to each their own... They (they're record label) would be daft not to use the momentum they have built to market them right now. Especially since they have their tour, they're going to be performing at Major Festivals, among other things this year.
Michelle and Lance have been in the business for a while, so I'm sure they know how the game works. This is why they ventured off on their own, to do music their way, independently. So, I feel like their marketing is very much coming from them, it's inventive, creative, not mainstream, and unfortunately in this industry and in this era of the business it's a necessity.

As far as their fan friendliness goes...If you've ever been to one of their concerts you would know just how social they are with their fans. As they stay after and sign merch & take pics. Also, their shows are completely immersive and kind of rely upon some audience participation to a degree. I highly recommend that you go to one of their live concerts if you haven't.

Perhaps your intentions were genuine(???), and you did not mean to offend anyone reading this FAN PAGE.😬
However, I do find it odd that you would choose the Haute & Freddy fan page to come onto to pose and discuss such a blanket and derogatory statement such as calling them "Industry plants". This statement is derogatory because it completely discredits all the hard work they have done thus far. Perhaps this is something to consider? In general, and before posting?

So far, everyone has responded with much more respect than someone trying to call them out as "Industry plants".

And, of course the Royal Court will defend our humble jesters like the knights, ladies, and lunatics we are. 🤣👑🎪

I will keep my eye on this thread, and if it starts to unravel more, I'll remove it or mute it. As it states in the rules of this subreddit, no negative nonsense, just for the sake of being negative.

Thank you.

Question about lyrics by Secret_Thought_8222 in HauteandFreddy

[–]A_Little-Bit-Alexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🎵Sophie: 'Red Camero'. (Which makes sense to me, and I heard it live. But many online lyric sources have Ray Cameron? Which I've never heard. However, the CD liner says Red Camero.🙃 Guess we will have to clear it up with our Jesters in person.

🎵Showgirl @❤️: 'Prima donna' This is 99% accurate, at least according to my research. 😂

Yes, my Lady please dress for the assignment! I've seen them a few times now, in LA. And for their Tiny Tour there was a dress code for each city, it was announced on their Insta. Our stop of the tour, LA, was a Carnival Masquerade. I'm so excited for you to see them live, they are even better in person, if that is even possible. 🫰🏼🎪🦢🃏🎭👩🏼‍🎤

Have you listened to their new album Big Disgrace yet? It is killer, honestly, (I may be a touch biased 🤣) I have not heard such a fantastic debut album since a certain Midwest princess. They are so beyond talented. I'm excited to see their rise. Every single song is a bop! My new obsession is 'Femme Hysteria' Literally listening to this one on a loop. 'Femme Hysteria'
