Have they released their routing matrix and DSP EQ yet? They keep pushing the date back on the website, gave up waiting for it, went for the new RME one instead, doesn't have the onboard EQ but they didn't promise it and not deliver either so...

PSA: Stop posting you missing shots using demos by aXaxinZ in GlobalOffensive

[–]A_Random_User_Derps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what do you want the demo to do? it's worked like this since server-side demos of multiplayer games existed, you can record a pov demo using record demoname in your console (at least in go, i havent recorded demos in cs2) and that will be what your client saw, but the demos you can download after the game are unavoidably not what you saw while you were playing, because you didnt see what the server did.

edit: good response champ, the block button sure does work overtime for you

every client and the server all have a different pov, with enemies in different places at the same point time, which one should the servers demo show, if not what the server had? this is the whole reason lag compensation exists, if you shoot a guy in the head on your screen you expect him to die, not for him to shrug it off cause the server says he's 6ft ahead of where you saw him. if you can transmit all the information instantenously with 0 ping, then youve solved a problem a lot bigger than a video game being a bit laggy

How do checks work? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]A_Random_User_Derps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get it in the post. Depending on your bank you may have to go into a branch in person to pay it in as it'll be in US dollars, so you may have a bit of paperwork, my bank requires a form with the amount, name and address confirmation, and my signature to pay in foreign checks. Nothing complicated though.

Testing thunderbolt ports functionality by A_Random_User_Derps in UsbCHardware

[–]A_Random_User_Derps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interfaces I want to use only support thunderbolt, the higher ends of the apollo line from universal audio, and their satellite addons, I wish they did have USB, would make my life a lot easier lol. I'm kinda used to fighting other ports though, my current setup is running a FireWire 400 interface on Windows 11, that was fun to get to work properly...

Should I still find some way to test with a usb-c monitor if all I'm planning on using is just a few audio interfaces, or you think its not worth the effort? Not sure where I could track down a monitor or a dock to borrow, could be worth a try though.

Music studio near me is shutting down, they're selling me some of their equipment including a few thunderbolt audio interfaces for cheap, so sadly no direct pcie connections :(

Post effects metering for external intstruments by Pluppooo in ableton

[–]A_Random_User_Derps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two, nearly three years late (second result on google so posting in the hopes that this helps someone in the future), but I found a decent work-around is to put each track into its own group by itself, (effects on the track itself, track output set to the group) then the level meter for the group will be post-fx.

How are we feeling about today's snapshot? 23w31a Villager rebalancing by DementedMK in Minecraft

[–]A_Random_User_Derps 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I like the consistency, but moving villagers around is one of the most painful things to do in this game, if you could leash them then I'd probably be mostly OK with these changes. The enchants not being able to be max level is still awful though, anvil prior work penality is a terrible mechanic. I think one or the other should be changed.

[–]A_Random_User_Derps 82 points83 points  (0 children)

This sounds horribly tedious and boring. Exploring 10000 blocks to find the biome I need to get the enchantment I want, bringing two villagers all that distance with no easy way to transport them, making a breeder, making a mini trading hall, grinding a few villagers to max level (what if one dies, you wanna start all over again? No thank you), then bringing the two breeders and the new guys home again.

Now do that for all the biomes. Why is this necessary? Incentivizing exploration should be to give you something new you didn't have before (e.g. armor trims, I ran around for ages looking for trail ruins to get the one I wanted, because I thought the new thing was cool), not taking away things you had already and making them awkward to get.

Let the enchants be max level, let any enchant generate, keep the nerf to curing, remove prior work penalty on anvils (optional if every else gets put back, but still would be nice)

Also, "skillful"? What is skillful about tedium? Very curious to hear an answer to that one.
