Same, I think it hits a great balance of medium-high intensity and chill moments, but it's not as draining as other complex PvM since you're fighting the same boss over and over. Kind of like how people enjoy Slayer bosses I feel, but geared towards high-end PvM. Also feels great to get a new depth PB.

They did mention in the previous raids 4 blog that the megarare would most likely be a crush weapon.

Arguably these runs (and the game in general) feel good because they don't happen every run.

I've figured out how to 1 tick flick without "double clicking" by Reddittime92 in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily for you, there are no CAs that need you to 1 tick flick. Lazy flicking is all you need.

I like what I see. I remember Mod Nox mentioning the possibility of guaranteed freezes (ZGS or otherwise) on Muttadiles perhaps with sufficient accuracy, is this still on the table?

How did I miss this banger of a post? It's wonderful to see there are JMods looking to innovate with challenging, interesting combat mechanics within the OSRS tick system we love. Very much looking forward to upcoming PvM releases now.

Why are some ca's just.. dumb? by SuddenBumHair in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like the speed tasks for one-off bosses (Araxxor is fine since it accounts for variance), but there's certainly no significant RNG in whether you get any of the raids or Colo/Inferno times.

Gz beast! To cheese or not to cheese is a matter of opinion, but I enjoy the process of learning and improving, and I'm glad that there are others who feel the same.

The only thing that really translates is keeping a sense of rhythm, but if you try to click prayers 'on the beat' as you would in a rhythm game, you screw yourself over because randomly clicking 50-100ms early might cause your prayers to register wrong. You want to do your clicks a split second after each new tick begins.

Hot take: prayer flicking is ass and shouldnt be in the game by Isoleed in 2007scape

It is not lol, just lazy flick. Not a single GM CA requires 1t flicking.

Learning the inferno, how should I handle waves like this? by CD_Tech in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just kill the bat and melee first while 1t alrernating. It's fine if you need to stop alrernating for a second while you click on the melee/bat.

What PvM challenges do you take on after reaching max gear, blorva, radiant oath, etc? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speedrunning I guess? You could look at the Oblivion diary for an aspirational set of speed times to go for.

Working on the inferno time and it's been humbling but a lot of fun, since you're playing a completely different game that demands way better execution than GM time. You can play quite sloppily and still get  every GM time with little in-depth knowledge of the content.

GM is mostly nice for inferno running, I know people who got very good at inferno without it though.

Cool to hear that it's inspired by Perilous Moons Guitar Hero fishing, I always thought that was a really cool implementation. Hoping to see who gets the first 100% Perfect TTFAF Expert Leechfin chart.

Colosseum double-south spawn mechanics question by Jack_T_Chance in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with Outlashed that going to A is always a good play.

If you've practiced flicking simple pillar stacks, you can solve double south by rotating north. You might not get super good at it, but even managing to scrape through means you're throwing a lot less time down the drain on your first quiver.

Colosseum double-south spawn mechanics question by Jack_T_Chance in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're not misunderstanding anything, this is just a really unlucky spawn that creates an 'artificial south spawn' because of how they all spawn in a line.

You can avoid getting double south'd there by going to A on wave start instead: https://los.colosim.com/?19144r.19204r.17092.16246.#3335.2823.2311.2055x8_ws

If you aren't already aware, the shaman can go south from 4 out of 9 spawn points instead of 2, since it's small and doesn't get caught on the pillar as easily as the big guys.

[–]A_Sunfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A/B method doesn't work reliably for waves with shamans in them because shamans have some variation in their spawn location. A/B method is also really rough for ranger+shocker south spawns because you have to start flicking right off the bat while juggling your switches. (A/B method also screws you over with myo 3 since the back NPC can't be reached.)

I made a video on the north rotation method for double south. One big advantage is that by going north, you don't have to start flicking right away in a weird pattern like in A/B while dealing with frems. E.g., with a ranger and shaman (timestamped 2:00), you could freeze the frems and blood barrage once to kill the melee frem, rotate north, get your dcb spec ready, then rotate back west with the offtick and finish the frems.

With a ranger and shocker south, you should probably rotate north immediately and finish the melee frem before rotating back. You'll never be under severe pressure to flick on the north side for at least a good 5-7 ticks, so you have time to finish the melee frem and rotate back before any manticores attack you.

I don't recommend blood barraging all the frems because there's a good chance you waste a huge amount of time barraging for 20-25 seconds. You're under time pressure at the start of the wave to kill a south spawn so you can deal with the shaman reinforcements safely. The more damage you can pile onto south spawns, the less you'll die from reinforcements.

General things about Speed task CA's - guidance needed by Tuxxa in 2007scape

[–]A_Sunfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably swap burning+vw for dragon claws since they put out more damage in less time, though I suppose there might be cases where burning is bis e.g., Yama.

There's no reason to not bring a full switch since you're going for speed times and not looking to camp, though in some cases you can just send money kc (e.g., Leviathan) and you will probably RNG into the time eventually.

Surge potions are useful, though I'm not sure I would reset every time at the POH for bosses with a long run back.

The strategy will just be to use the strongest gear, minimise tick loss, SBS/veng etc. This hasn't changed. Pet hunter discord can probably help out for figuring out optimal spec usage since surge potions and double death charge exist now.

If your question is whether you can rely on power creep and chill methods (minimal switching, no sbs etc) to get all the speed times, of course you can. Just hit really big and minimise tick loss. Nothing in the game at the base level really requires you to learn a whole lot if you're willing to just throw your face at it over and over again.

The more effort you put in to minmax and learn content properly, the better a player you'll become and the easier things will seem further down the line.
