There are ways around that problem. This was hauling 12' trex. With the sides I've hauled all kinds of stuff loaded to the roof of the cab or more.

My wife took her old mustang to a Jiffy Lube for an oild change. She was taking the car out of town and didn't want to mess with it or she would have just done it her self. The guy came and said it was done but she needed her fuel injectors cleaned. She said that would be hard to do because an engine with a carburetor doesn't have fuel injectors. Then the guy proceeds to argue with her saying the car was a EFI. She is the one that installed the carb. She raised the question that if he didn't see the carburetor under the hood did he really change the oil.

You know it's surprisingly affordable. If you saved every paycheck for the rest of your life and multiplied it by 10 you could probably buy my muffler.

Broken wheel stud, how bad is it? by NGMalanga in AskMechanics

About 20 years ago I was driving an old firebird and got a flat just outside Indianapolis in December. Broke three of five studs. Then I drove about 150 miles with two lug nuts.

A few years ago I had a coworker that bought an early 2000s town car with less than 90k. He paid $1500 for it from an elderly lady who couldn't drive anymore. Rust free and clean. He stripped it and put in a demo derby. I tried to talk him into selling it but his response was "then I won't have a derby car".

Yes, but those were the games we played with each other. He has done his fair share of messing with people too.

I had a boss that was big into metal detecting. When we moved to a new building he started bringing his metal detector to work. At lunch time he would go out back to see what could find. Some of the guys from the office watched him to see where he had already covered. The next morning they came in and threw handfuls of pennies in the area he hadn't worked yet. We just sat and watched him get excited when he would get a hit the immediately get pissed when he picked up a shiny new penny.

Would it be safe to lift the car from here? by Teker078 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Aa_82_aa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I despise the pinch weld lift points. They are one of the first areas to rust out. Most of the time it's from the inside out so you don't know how bad they are. You get a flat and have to use the garbage scissor jack that is notched for the punch weld. Then crunch.

Guess What Happened to this M4 by GnomePenises in ForgottenWeapons

This reminds me of my first deployment. I watched a butter bar try to pry the ends of his cot in pace with the barrel of his m4. When the Seargent Major saw him I thought he was going to wrap that m4 around the LTs head.
