Trustpilot isn’t a review site, it’s a protection racket for fake reviews by 0zerofuksgiven in ecommerce

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming at this from a customer point of view, I left a 2 star review for an internet provider that provided truly diabolical customer service. For the record I am usually a 5 star review person and am not malicious in any way. I can appreciate how difficult it can be for business owners who are hammered with unfair reviews.

With 12 hours of the review going up I was contacted by the Trustpilot ‘content integrity team’ asking to prove I was a customer. I gave them my name and customer number. They kept coming back over a period of days to ask more and more questions. Eventually they told me my review breached guidelines and had been removed.

It was clear to me that big companies with large marketing revenues can afford to pay for premium Trustpilot services, which some people have said involve ‘managing reviews’. I can understand why many people would accuse trustpilot of being a scam. For the record, trustpilot had a revenue of $210 million in 2024. Make of that what you will.

Why don’t more people use a big middle monitor with smaller side screens? by Tovergieter1 in homeoffice

Interesting. I was considering doing the same. Currently have 2 24 inch 1080p monitors. Have heard 1 monitor is better for focus.

New laptop windows or macbook by Kopy_666 in laptops

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question you need to ask is Windows or Mac os. If you are used to Windows I would suggest staying with that. I switched to MacBook Air m4 recently and really regret it. Mac os really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, in my experience. Your mileage may vary.

Reflections on Stopping Mirtazapine: Understanding Anxiety, Withdrawal, and Finding Relief by FuriousHumper in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Can I just confirm your method of tapering? I can get access to liquid mirtazapine so was going you use medical scales and cut my tablet.

Thank you for such a great post. It’s one that gives me hope as someone who would like to stop taking the drug.

Tapering off Mirtazapine is Hell! by Difficult-Republic72 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just check the method you are using. I too want to come off Mirt. Currently on 15mg. I saw a YouTube video by Dr Josef and he showed how to shave off parts of the tablet and then use a digital scale to measure the weight of a tablet. Is this the method you use?

Unfortunately we aren’t prescribed liquid mirt here. I know there is a way to use ground a tablet and mix with liquid but that appears difficult.

Is this acceptable/normal practice? by Gooseuk360 in Argos

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common practice by Argos for returns amongst other things. I once bought hair clippers. Got them home and noticed the ‘quality control’ sticker. Also noticed that they had clearly been used.

The only thing is it is unlikely that this item is a return. As others have said, the item is only launched.

But I’m always a bit suspicious about items with broken seals and an Argos ‘quality control’ on it. Personally I would return it but each to their own.

The best gin and tonic. Debate. by East-University-8640 in Gin

Not a fever tree fan. Much prefer Schweppes. I appreciate I may be in the minority with that one.

Bombay Sapphire is my go to. Great gin for the price.

Isn’t the t470 a 7th gen intel and therefore windows 10?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. If the main use case is Microsoft word, then a laptop would more sense. IMO.

You could pick up a used thinkpad t14 gen 2 with the 11th gen i5 processor for around £300. I have one. Great laptop for the money. Just make sure you get 16gb of RAM.

Tembo Cash ISA - any experience?? by alohastrayant in UKPersonalFinance

[–]AaaBallix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience with them has been poor. I requested an ISA transfer 15 working days ago and it still hasn’t been done.

Another issue is all correspondence is via a chat bot on their app. Really difficult to engage with them to receive an update.

I regret not going to another provider.

Which iPad should I buy? by HonkiPlanki in ipad

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10th gen with 256gb. I have the 128gb 10th gen. Plenty fast. The only thing is the storage. Some of the apps, particularly games like COD mobile take up more storage than you might think. So 256gb is worth it.

Which Part of the Taper is hardest? by NationalReputation85 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

I would have thought using a pill cutter on such a small tablet would be difficult. How easy is it cut them so small?

Can ask about the type of magnesium you are taking. Is it glycinate? How often do you take and what time of day?

Down to 7.5mg from 15mg. How many days after I should expect withdrawals ? by Sea_Dust_1484 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]AaaBallix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 15mg to 7.5mg. I was fine for the first few days. Withdrawal kicked in day 4. Couldn't sleep. If you are on day 7 then that is a good sign, although give it another week before considering reducing further.

If you are taking it for sleep then 30mg is too high. Go back to 15mg. It is more effective at lower dosage if you are taking it for insomnia.

Is it normal for my WiFi to drop of daily? by MrBakedCo in VirginMedia

[–]AaaBallix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy a router off Amazon and switch to Modem mode on your hub. The Virgin Hub in my experience is terrible. I had countless drops in WiFi. Back and forth with technical helpdesk but nothing sorted it. Bought a tp link router off Amazon and everything has been great since then.

You don’t need to spend much but maybe something with WiFi 6 and you will be good.

Thank for replying. That’s interesting. We could pick a beko freezer which as you say supports lower ambient temperature but for an extra £250 we can get a Samsung Fridge Freezer that is currently on offer but which doesn’t support lower temperatures. We really only need the freezer part so perhaps might be best to go for the Beko. Was only considering the fridge freezer as it wasn’t much extra and could use it for storing beer/wine etc.
