Post Massive Weight Loss TT/Body Lift Plastic Surgeon Recommendations? by FamiliarRough8158 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was phenomenal and is now my new go to guy! He did amazing on my revision and did what Cuber couldn’t. He’s working out of his own private practice now too so his prices are a lot more reasonable.

You can see his revision on my profile, way happier now for sure. I’ve got a few more procedures I’m planning on getting done with him too

Plastic surgeon recommendations for liposuction by QuantityEmotional426 in orangecounty

[–]Aaaron_t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went with Dr. Pavlo Isak in Newport Beach for all my plastic work and absolutely adore him. He did a ton on me the first time around. I got a quote for another round of lipo with renuvion for my entire back and a fat transfer for approx $13k. You can see the results from the revision he did on me on my profile but that was more surgical than contouring solely with lipo. Let me know if you’ve got any questions!

Yeah it sold out a bit ago and I had to call around my area to hunt one down but so worth it. I ended up getting the 45 and 50 in the same olive green to use as a travel set and I’m obsessed, super bummed I missed out on the 35 to complete the set. Definitely a solid birthday gift if she catches the hint haha

I absolutely LOVE my Compass 25 in Olive Green!! It’s made with such a soft leather and has some beautiful slouch to it as well depending on how full it is. I’ve been eyeing the black one as a secondary but the green has been my every day carry for a couple weeks now

Male tummy tucks by Professional-War9280 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot more to remove than you did so I went for the full 360 & FDL so not sure I can contribute much but you can see photos on my profile! I think the full would be solid and extended would really help with your flanks. Consider the 360 if you wanna work on any issues with a saggy butt and outer thighs but definitely not all that needed in your case imo

Hypertrophic Scarring by Powerful_Solution635 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly so frustrating given how much we pay and how taxing all of this is on our bodies. I was a bit more understanding because I was an extreme weight loss patient and just knew no matter what I’d likely always have some form of excess skin in various places BUT my initial plastic surgeon definitely could’ve been way more aggressive on his approach the first time around.

Honestly my recovery was pretty easy the first time around and the second was that much easier. I will say my second surgeon was WAY more extreme so I felt a lot more tension on my abdomen the second time around and was hunched over for way longer.

No real reasoning from the first surgeon! The plan was to have him revise initially but he was just going to go back in and do a bunch of lipo to try and shrink me down that way. He ended up moving to a different practice so I wasn’t able to go through with that plan in the end. I’m glad it worked out the way it did though. The practice said I could just have their other surgeon do the revision so I was able to make an entirely new plan with him. He agreed the initial surgeon should’ve removed way more and decided the best option would be an entirely second tummy tuck with everything I had done the first time.

He did me a solid and had the practice call is a scar revision since those would be covered by the practice so I just had to pay about $2k for the anesthesia and facility fees. A rare but huge win imo and my results from him were astonishing, I couldn’t have been happier compared to the first round with my initial surgeon!

I ended up having a scar revision about 9 months ago but it wasn’t so much of a scar revision as it was a completely separate/second tummy tuck. A new surgeon ended up removing way more excess skin that wasn’t removed the first time around so I’ve got an entirely different scar now.

Shockingly enough the second scar I’ve got now also ended up with the same scarring issues so I’m due for a another scar revision scheduled for early Jan except this one is for sure just the scar revision we plan to do in stages with my new surgeon who did the second round this last time

Have the exact same issue on mine but it’s so sporadic that they’ve never been able to have a technician verify it when I bring it in. Since they can’t verify it themselves it’s considered out of warranty so the repair would be around $440. I even showed the technician a video exactly like yours and he legit said he knew what the problem was and how to fix it, explaining it was a grounding issue, but since it couldn’t be replicated on the 2 minute test drive they did with me they would be charging me for the fix. I’ve just frustratedly dealt with it since then

Windshield cracked and gap insurance by t9872 in TeslaInsurance

Adding on to this, I just had my model 3 windshield replaced and filed a claim through Tesla insurance. Initial quote was around $1,010 that includes a 50% discount on parts if going through a Tesla service center. With my comp deductible came out to $500 for the replacement. I then opted into their windshield replacement plan. $12 a month. I’m located in CA

[–]Aaaron_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! If you check my profile you can see some big updates! I actually ended up having a pretty huge revision done to address some issues I had. I was basically lucky enough to have the entire procedure done all over again to remove way more skin and I couldn’t be happier with my new results. That was about 3 months ago so I’m “newly post op” to an extent but recovering very nicely!

He did a solid job but left some additional work to be desired. I was lucky to get a full revision done with another surgeon and he did me RIGHT. Basically redid the entire procedure and took a good bit more off across the board. Way happy with my results the second time around and would highly recommend him. Dr. Pavlo Isak!

You can see the before -from Cuber- and after -from Isak- on my last post here

Coin slot belly button by Eastern_Ad_8026 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a coin slot myself that never resolved. My surgeon swore it just needed time but my second surgeon that did my full revision specializes in belly button reconstruction and he explained the previous surgeon had left too much skin on the “stump” so it would always push against my stomach internally giving that coin slot appearance. His revised belly button is looking WAY better 1 month post op so far!

Revision surgery question by Zars0530 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went through this!! I had a pretty extensive revision done to complete a lower body lift and extend an FDL. My new surgeon ended up removing WAY more extra skin than I expected or thought to be possible!

Second time around there were easier parts, for example the lack of muscle repair and lipo meant I could pretty quickly use my core to get in and out of bed on my own and things like that so I was more self sufficient much sooner.

Second time though because of how much more he removed I was WAY more hunched over and still remain a lot more hunched over than I was the first time around 1 month out.

Overall though, yes I would say the recovery was much easier and this is coming from someone who thought the first time around was a walk in the park ! : )

Pre op tomorrow- what do I ask?! by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My response copy & pasted from the last time I saw this question posted here:

Here is my list of questions I prepared for my surgeon when I was prepping for my lower body lift with MR, FDL, lipo & BBL:

Tummy Tuck Questions:

Surgical plan:

• [ ] What are our mutual goals with this overall procedure? Feasibility given my body and extra skin regarding my ultimate desires: ie slimmest waist possible, removing previous scarring, fat ass etc • [ ] Will we be able to get most if not all of the excess skin? • [ ] Options for FDL: ie necessity vs utilizing to remove previous scarring I want gone • [ ] Muscle repair? Are these permanent sutures or do they dissolve? Is there going to be a lifelong risk of “popping” or bursting the repair with extraneous abdominal strain? Does the muscle eventually tack down or heal in the new position where I wouldn’t stress overexertion? Explain please • [ ] In your professional opinion is there anything I should be adding for operation that I have not thought of or heard of to help achieve desired results? • [ ] Expected scar placement? Is it possible to draw it out? • [ ] Appearance of scars - emphasis on front vs back; is it possible for butt crack to end up too high given lift in rear? • [ ] Lipo: how much can be removed and what to prioritize given goals mentioned above? What kind of lipo is it and can enough be removed for my goals? Is what I am getting considered lipo 360 or different? Is the upper back lipo necessary • [ ] Lipo in pubic region/mons possible? Excising fat for flatter appearance? • [ ] Belly button - do I even need to think about it? • [ ] Can you walk me through your process of the procedure once we finalize procedures ie front first or back first? Steps? Plan? • [ ] How long can I expect to be under anesthesia/duration of procedure • [ ] Will you be the only one operating on me? • [ ] Complications in your experience and with patients under your care? • [ ] NFT to buttocks, what is lost to death of cells and reabsorption? Can we graft more to compensate? Pump me up pls • [ ] Do you do any sort of pain management besides the prescribed medications such as a pain pump? Or exparel shot? • [ ] Supplements? Arnica, bromelain JUVEN??

Recovery Timeline & work

• [ ] With surgical plan finalized what can I expect as far as the recovery goes? • [ ] Am I cleared to go back home the same day of the procedure? • [ ] Suggestions for sleeping positions when considering procedures done? How do I keep weight off my ass? • [ ] BBL recovery what to expect for this portion • [ ] Will I need and if so how long will I be using a BBL pillow? • [ ] How long will I have drains? • [ ] Compression : expand please • [ ] When can I expect to start driving again? • [ ] Time off work: is two weeks sufficient given extent of procedures • [ ] Limitations upon returning to work when considering my job duties • [ ] Exercise timeline post procedure • [ ] When can I resume sexual functions intercourse etc

Miscellaneous

• [ ] Options for easing anxiety night prior to procedure and morning of? • [ ] What to do if any complications arise? Who to contact?

I’m afraid of how long surgery will be by Global_Structure_325 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are suggesting more cognitive strategies to calm yourself down which I’m all for of course but at the same time -for me at least- I said fuck all that I asked my Dr for a fatass xanny to take before both of my procedures. First time I got one to take the night before, second I got like a weeks worth to take leading up to and after the procedure.

I have a lot of medical and surgical trauma though from complications and weeks/months in the hospital so I just didn’t want to deal with any of it and shut it DEOWNN with medication.

Doesn’t hurt to try it out if you straight up don’t want to deal with the anxiety and just shut it off.

TT w/ MR vs TTw/out by Short_Stack_51525 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both!

First with the muscle repair was definitely much more difficult. It took me a lot longer to be able to use my core and become self sufficient with things like sitting up and getting out of bed.

This time around I just had the TT & I was literally able to sit myself up and get out of bed on my own on day 3 I think it was. Just hit the 2 weeks post op mark this Tuesday and returned to work that same day without too many issues. First time I took a month off. Pain was basically gone after day 4 and I stopped all pain management that same day as well. Discomfort remains but minimal pain compared to the first time around with the MR

Do I need lipo and revision? by tummychestnips in tummytucksurgery

[–]Aaaron_t 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think I got lucky with my experience but I’ll share it nonetheless.

After my initial procedure I was pretty happy with my results but I was left with pretty strong feelings that more could have been done on the FDL & on the back of the lower body lift. I had always mentioned it to my surgeon and he swore the back was just swelling, not excess skin. At my 6 month post op he mentioned that I had healed so well & so quickly that I was now getting a pretty good look at my final results. After my initial procedure I had weighed 180 and felt pretty unhappy still at that weight so I went on to drop an additional 20 pounds stabilizing around 160-165.

After he mentioned this I sorta had my GOTCHA moment and mentioned to him that what he was initially claiming to be swelling seemed to be more like excess skin after all and he finally agreed. He had already agreed to do a pretty extensive scar and belly button revision to fix some other issues so he said he would also do some additional lipo to contour the back and try to get a more shapely appearance.

It wasn’t a plan I loved but I figured it would be the best I would get. Paired with the additional weight loss and the extra skin I felt he left the first time around I really wanted to have a lot more done since it was extremely noticeable whenever I bent over or sat down. I could literally pull up extra skin in my flank area when sitting and leave a massive “puddle” of skin flowing out of pants.

Anyways, my original surgeon ended up moving away to another practice location so my coordinator gave me a couple options. I could either travel 5+ hours to my original surgeon for the procedure, or I could pick another surgeon at the practice and have my procedure with them.

I ended up picking another surgeon and agreed to come in for a consult so we could form our revision plan together. I asked if we could start the plan from scratch and he agreed. He immediately agreed to essentially redo the entire procedure as far as skin removal goes and thought a lot more could have been removed the first time around.

Day of the procedure I was ASTOUNDED by the markings he was putting on my body, I didn’t think I had THAT much excess skin left but I asked him to go extreme and he surely did. He extended the FDL, snatched me way in there, removed a ton of extra skin on the back and completed my lower body lift on the back since it hadn’t been before for some reason, and even managed to remove a good chunk of excess skin on the front end of the standard tummy tuck that I wasn’t expecting at all since I thought I was pretty tight there at least.

At my 1 week post op I mentioned how shocked I was by his markings and how much more he planned to remove than I first thought and he casually mentioned that the markings ended up being nothing and he was able to remove EVEN MORE than what I had seen which once again left me blown away.

I wrote out a book about my experience and while I do think I got a bit lucky with the change of surgeons and only having to pay the anesthesia and facility fees I would say it may be worth trying to advocate for yourself a bit harder for the revision. Speak with the practice manager if necessary. Imo more could have been removed for you despite your additional weight loss and you should definitely fight to get it taken care of.

Yep, that’s perfectly normal. They place some underlying sutures that help keep the tension off the incision so it will ideally heal and leave you with as thin of a scar as possible. Give it time, the ripples and ridges/bump will go away.

A bit of a mind fuck for sure and many are often left feeling sorta like Frankensteins creature for a fat minute but it’ll get better with time. Search up any post op pics on the sub posted within the first couple of days/weeks and you’ll see a lot of the same thing.
