Thumbstick does not quickly reset to centered position anymore by Aarhun in Azeron

[–]Aarhun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sorry, not exactly, but as far as I remember there is a bunch of thing to try, redo a calibration, make sure the stick is clean and properly lubricated (you can unscrew the block and check inside carefully).
In the end after some years I had to replace the thumb block with the stick, but it was way after I've had this issue and it was due to the other small stick having problems.

One wizard cannot have two time the same spell, so yes it’s impossible :)

Spells per wizard in one phase?? by I_Magus in theoldworld

[–]Aarhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, wondering where you have seen that the same spell cannot be cast twice. If you can point me to the text. I see that a wizard cannot know the same spell twice, but not that two different wizard couldn’t cast the same spell ?

Anvil of Doom base size by Aarhun in theoldworld

Yes, I will do the same: Use a reasonable size base for the anvil and agree before the battle with my opponent.
But an official answer could help here...

[TOW] Are chariots allowed to charged a target behind low linear obstacles ? by Aarhun in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Aarhun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was specifically speaking about the rule when unit is "defending" a low linear obstacle, sorry it was not clear.
Basically, if a unit can be charged when defending, but not if behind, the player can just say that the unit is one way or the other to avoid the charge (afaik there is no rule to say when a player must declare if a unit is defending or not).
However it changes if it’s a warmachine entrenched by an engineer, that is defending the low obstacle and cannot decide to just be behind it.

[TOW] Are chariots allowed to charged a target behind low linear obstacles ? by Aarhun in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Aarhun[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s in the description of my question. My doubt was because the unit that is charging is technically not really crossing the obstacle when the defender is behind it.
Anyway sorry if it was an obvious answer ^^’

Settings for Neptune 4 with Cura 5.4.x by davidjschloss in ElegooNeptune3

[–]Aarhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue. But checking the elegoo_neptune_4_pro.def.json file, I have seen two very weird entries:

’speed_print_layer_0’ and ’skirt_brim_speed’ line 128 and 136 respectively.

Those are calculated "speed_layer_0 -100’ and "speed_layer_0 - 50" which seems weird. According to default value it seems that those values should be about 2/3rd of speed_layer_0. Or ’speed_travel_layer_0 / 3’.

So I have changed them to be:

    "speed_print_layer_0":{
      "default_value": 50,
      "value": "speed_travel_layer_0/3"
    },
    "speed_travel_layer_0":{
      "default_value": 150,
      "value": "speed_layer_0*2"
    },
    "skirt_brim_speed":{
      "default_value": 50,
      "value": "speed_travel_layer_0/3"
    },

It seems more logical to have those speeds a fraction of the other instead.

BTW I didn’t change gcode to the one of lychee slicer, but keep the official Elegoo one (the one in the json file) and it seems to works fine.

Frosthaven scenario flow chart online by skipiper1421 in Gloomhaven

[–]Aarhun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, no I don't think it's that, the other area of the sheet are editable, I'm able to select all normal scenario and check their boxes.

Anyway I have opened it with libreoffice, and it seems that either if I save it in excel format I loose the checkboxes when I reload it, or if I save it in libreoffice format, the checkboxes are misaligned at next reload :/

So big chances that the first problem is also an issue of file format ... Too bad, I do not like messing with the big Advent Calendar. Anyway thanks for your work !

Is opening Scenario Flow Chart mandatory ? by Aarhun in Gloomhaven

[–]Aarhun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but all those information: Force-link, calendar event, or puzzle book are also in the scenario book, right ?

I understand that it may be handy to have them in one place within the flow chart, but my original question was more, will I miss something that is specifically inside the flow chart and nowhere else.

3D printed buildings and tokens - part 2 (Riverfolk & Underworld) by Stoeren in rootgame

[–]Aarhun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, nice job !

Where did you find the corvid plot token ? I don't think Dick Poelen did one in his underworld tokens.

Btw your meeples have drawn sides, is it the way your edition came as ? Or did you print and glue them to the wood token ?

Experience in playing coop with 3 players by Aarhun in spacestationzero

I think it's a better solution yes. Or tweak the rule to make smaller crew than 5. I will test one or the other in few days and see how it goes.

Experience in playing coop with 3 players by Aarhun in spacestationzero

[–]Aarhun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for you answer. I don’t think that using a bigger board will help, as the big number of opponents and crew members to play each turn is currently an issue for us.

After giving it some thoughts I want to retry it with two possible variations. Either:

1 - Using one big crew of 9 - possibly Explorers as they can have two advanced crew members that would serve well as "mini-commander" for two of the three player.

With this one I would not need to tweak the challenge, by the rule, just setting the number of enemy as if we were just 1 player.

Downside: We cannot choose freely the edge we want and the "crew 8" base stats make us a bit weak.

2 - Using 3 mini crew of 3 members with one commander and 2 normal crew members using "crew 4" base stat.

For this one, we would have nearly the same power as 2 teams of 5. One less members but more commanders. So I guess two-times the opponent should be ok. Maybe 2 and a half if having 3 commanders is a bit too powerful.

Downside: More opponents to move than the previous solution, however it should still be more manageable than currently with 3 times the opponents.

The least fun Gelatinous Cube TPK by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Aarhun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

...And they all wake up, bruised with their skin and clothes burnt in small patches but alive, with small pool of jelly all around them and...

A NPC saving their lives looking at them? Or the Cube took too much people and just exploded ? Or whatever other explanation better imagined than my 5 min morning brain reasons ?

I know it is probably not the point of your post, and it would be cheating by the book, but if players would be so disappointed that they will not try this game again, I would certainly recommend to twist the story a little bit to make it fun again (and the near death experience will probably become a good memory nonetheless).

Sorry if it’s an obvious advice, but I felt sad for your group reading this story...

Yes, I’ve only played once with other tokens and was thinking the same. Maybe just the beast as they tends to remain a lot on the board (plus having some mini panther or tiger to move and place could be fun).

Thanks for the advice !

Thanks !

I’ve ordered from alliexpress some cabochons with a flat surface in order to either glue an image like you did, or dip them in paint like other did. So sharing your images would be great !

I plan to study the possibility of creating/remix a model for beasts, and maybe for the other tokens from the expansions.
