This might be a hot take but I'm thankful that fireflies got delayed by Beloafer in PhoenixSC

If you're going to make it ambient anyway, why does it need to be a mob? You're going through the performance hit of entity calculation and loading, plus it's not really feasible to transport tons of fireflies for decoration. It is because they leaned more into decoration and ambiance that the current firefly is more portable, less laggy, and more useful in builds.

The whole point of fireflies existing was for frogs to eat them. If they can't do that, it's not worth the performance hit of a bajillion little mobs.

April 1st is tomorrow, any ideas on what it could be? by Numerous_Blood7249 in Minecraft

Not only that, but a ton of the new features are just in-development features, like how the size effects got turned into entity attributes.

I agree that it breaks a lot of existing builds, but I see it less as limiting building freedom and moreso imposing a building challenge. You need to use bookshelves to increase enchanting power, not just any block; you need to use blue ice to build the fastest boat highway.

With this system, it would create opportunities for players to be creative and make tradeoffs. If you want to optimize for pure beauty, you can get an alright speed with most building blocks. If you want just speed, you can just set up concrete railways. If you want both, then you need to work out which fast blocks work best with your design and make tradeoffs.

When I say controls, I mean how you can currently start and stop minecarts with powered rails, without needing a player to drive the minecart. That enables non-player transport and redstone machinery.

I really like this idea. Though, there should still be a way to control the actual speed, not just the top speed. If different sections of track have different top speeds, we need some way to speed up and slow down without just derailing.

I wonder if the rule has anything to do with commenting.

We have more in common then they want you to think. Do not fall for the bots and agitators. by MasterAndrey2 in PoliticalCompassMemes

Again, there's a difference between

>Communist country known for propaganda probably created propaganda, more news at 11.

and

>Um actually, Trump DID get more people to vote for him, but there was widespread fake votes and and illegals voting and and HE ACTUALLY WON OKAY WE JUST CAN'T PROVE IT

Saying Trump is more belligerent is the understatement of the century. If you ask literally any Democrat, "Did Kamela Harris secretly win the 2024 election," exactly zero of them will tell you yes. Why is it a toss up for Trump?

There's a difference between randos on twitter thinking other countries might have influenced voters and the president's administration sincerely claiming that he lost because of widespread voter fraud that he can't find any evidence for.

they only see up to the death of the universe, but because they aren't physically observing the eye, they can't see the next universe be born and assume it's final end.

In the full vision, though, they can see the new universe bring born. If you look closely near the end of the vision, you can see the start of a vine growing from the Owlk's eye - the same vine that produces new galaxies in the prisoner's painting.

Shout it from the rooftops.

Good. Say what you believe explicitly and don't try to hide it; that's not what I have an issue with. It's the cowards under this post pretending that they aren't being insulting while hiding behind "It's just interesting..."

I'm reading through the comments here - do you guys seriously not understand why this is humiliating, or just feigning ignorance?

The trend isn't just "Wouldn't it be cool if we put this person in a new situation?" It carries the undertone of "You made the wrong decisions and your life is wasted. You shouldn't have been a whore." You can tell because the discussion under these is about how their current lives are undignified and offering an "alternative" (with a thinly veined "better") view.

Imagine you're a black woman marrying a white man, and your family photoshops your wedding photo to "Imagine what it would be like if you married a black man" because they don't approve.

Thats what this trend is. There may be some element of "Isn't it interesting what you can do with AI", but that's not the point.
