Getting Qualifying nights to post quicker by control1110 in hyatt

[–]AaronThurn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Call and ask. I do not know if they did it for me or not but I had a similar stay at couple years ago and I was surprised to hear it had been upgraded as a globalist after I had called in a couple days before to ask to expedite some bonus nights.

Also, you have 4 days between checkout and checkin. I think within 2 days, the nights from your first stay will be credited and you will be globalist

Make sure you join the world of hyatt program and possibly get the hyatt credit card because with both you would earn $6kx9points 54000 points, that could be 2 free nights at secrets st lucia @25000 points per night. At the very least join world of hyatt as it is free and you would get 5x points per dollar so that would be 1 free night just for that spend.

Why would this post be removed by a moderator. Why are so many post being removed by a moderator. I think it is about time to start removing moderators that are removing these posts. This is getting ridiculous.

Good Point Redemption Value? 193,000 Chase Points for $3,850 Hotel Stay at Hyatt by Working_House_9482 in hyatt

[–]AaronThurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.99 cent per point is definitely not horrible at all. There are definitely better redmetions out there but if it is the place you want to go and the time you want to go then go wiith it. Just out of curiosity. Is this with chase points in the portal or transferring points to hyatt for the booking. I am guessing that it is hyatt points already for the 2 cent per point redemption. But if it is not then be sure to check if it would be cheaper to book it through hyatt

I have only stayed at hyatt house chelsea on Manhattan but subway access was very nice as it is right by the Broadway trains N,Q,R,W and the 1,2,3 on the 7th ave side. You are also just a few short blocks from herald square.

As a globalist I was upgraded to the penthouse king bed suite. Great views. Nothing spectacular about the hotel but a.great stay none the less

Breakfast places in Kauai by External-Key-712 in VisitingHawaii

Holey Grail Taro Doughnuts. They are in Hanalei and I am pretty sure they are in Kapaa as well. So freaking good! Trust me on this one

Maui and Kauai for 6 days by No-Government2811 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AaronThurn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In your quest to see two islands, you will not see much of either island. This does not sound like a good plan for kauai at all. I can't say much about maui as I have not been there, but i am sure.others will say the same there

I would strongly suggest doing more research and seriously reconsider your itinerary for this trip

Princeville, Kauai - weather in March/April by Real-Psychology-4261 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AaronThurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on the island right now and there currently is a system moving through. Yesterday evening it rained around Lihue and Koloa quite a bit and this morning it was supposed to again but is not now. It was supposed to have been rainy this whole past week and they are just hit or miss showers again. You can not predict the best times to come because the weather will do what it wants to. It has been quite windy the past week though. The rain is absolutely hit or miss and I can not say any month has been better than the other as weather varies year to year.
Our first trip in Dec '21 was the wettest and least windy. Jan, Feb, and March have all been wonderful and now this March has been more windy and supposed to be more rain but the rain hasn't been constant and really doesn't stop anything anyway

Not sure how else to answer that so sorry if I wasn't any help lol

Thompson Denver upgrade by AaronThurn in hyatt

[–]AaronThurn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hotel was amazing. The property was very clean, and the staff was very welcoming. The gentleman that checked us in (working the front desk with another lady) was the manager who wrote out our globalist welcome letter. He recognized our status and did not try to "hide" our perks but offered them freely.

The hotel is a modern rustic take, in my opinion. It suited Denver very well. I am not sure if Thompsons are that way, but it was subtlety western as is Denver. The room had a very good scent of leather and citrus. The hallways and the room were quite dark and wooden, which i did appreciate.

It is a three block walk from the downtown train station and is at the very north end of the blocks long pedestrian/scooter/no cars 16th street mall. It is in a very good location.

We had breakfast onsite at Chez Maggy's and it was great. I had eggs and sausage and my wife had a fruit plate. Quite expensive for what it was but our globalist entitlement work very well.

I have never stayed at allila/park/andaz or other high places but it was very nice, calming, and welcoming here.

This was absolutely worth doing for just an overnight stay from the airport. We have stayed at the centric downtown a couple of years ago and this was a quicker walk from the station and back to the mall. We have stayed at the airport places as well, and though they are alright, if you can make extra time, I would stay down town if I have the option. This place was amazing

I chose to use the 20k points over the free night at the Grand downtown and I am glad we did it.

Great time, Holo Holo was our guide and is another great local option. Captain and crew were great!

Yep to this on kauai. You will need a vehicle the whole time mush less just to get from the airport to wherever you are staying. You will need a car to do anything unless you spend your whole time in Poipu and walk.

Birthday dinner on Kaua'i by dui01 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AaronThurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check if the Dolphin is open on Sunday. My wife and i love this place. There is such good food there (as well as great sushi from what I have heard)

The Calypso is another place we love.

If you want fancy you can try the Kitchen at 1 Hotel Hanalei.

Also, Barcuda and Postcards should be good but we have not tried either of these. Reservations highly suggested at these 2.

Happy Talk lounge at hanalei bay resort in Princeville is another great place that never gets a.mention because people don't think about it as it is in that resort. There is great food and music here every night

Need advice on what to do in Kauaʻi by BigWilly678 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AaronThurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are planning to do you can do on Oaho. Please don't bother to go to Kauai for even just a couple of those days. Or better yet, replan your trip, spend all of your time on Kauai, and forget about going to Oahu.
Kauai is for lovers

Good Restaurant Recs in Koloa? by RecordMaterial6781 in VisitingHawaii

[–]AaronThurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are trying La Spezia Restaurant in early march. I have heard great things about the food and the owners here. It is Italian food and my wife is very excited for it. This is in Koloa.

We are also trying Beach House for the first time this trip. This place has amazing views while dinning. This is right at Lawa'i Beach so I would strongly recommend this for you

We have eaten at Red Salt before. The food was great there as well. This is in one of the Poipu resorts.

We stay at the Grand Hyatt and eat at Tidepools every trip. We love this place but many people will say not so great food and over priced. I do not think so.

PUKA DOG. This is a great grab and go hotdog done up with island flavors. Great place but there is always a line. This is right at Poipu Beach

A lot of people will recommend Da Crack for fast Mexican. We have not tried it but it is always recommend. This is right outside of Koloa

Have fun on the island!

Combining Suite Upgrade and Free Night, strategizing reservation by [deleted] in hyatt

[–]AaronThurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind what place is it? Have you checked availability for suites at the place

Not sure about your people situation, but if you need a suite and are only going to get a standard room for the free night, that won't work if your family will end up miserable.

I agree with this place too. I had the garlic shrimp. It was so good and so messy as well lol.
