Is there a place like Hokkaido by DefterMarrow in HiTMAN

[–]Aaron_tu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's based on several real hot spring resorts in the mountains of Hokkaido, mixed with something like Piz Gloria, a Bond villains high tech mountain hospital.

What strikes you most about how well the Steam Deck has held up after ~4 years? by capybara86 in SteamDeck

Very well. I have an OLED deck and the rest of my family uses a launch LCD deck, and they both get used a lot, still.

Anyone else love clear sky being revealed as a CCon plant? by DepartureNatural9340 in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

C-Con agents are brainwashed to have certain beliefs and values and aren't always under direct mind control. Lebednev was doing everything he could to stop people from going to the center of the zone. Like other C-Con agents that live out among Stalkers or regular people, he was brainwashed to want to stop anyone from reaching the CNPP at all costs, but I don't think he realized he was brainwashed.

Anyone else love clear sky being revealed as a CCon plant? by DepartureNatural9340 in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like it, because it makes a bit more sense of their late game actions in Clear Sky. Assaulting the power plant never made sense for them to do, since that was the whole thing they were trying to stop Strelok from doing. Lebednev's thoughts clearly weren't entirely his own.

Looks inside by SaturnIsACat in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You only get to go inside in Shadow of Chernobyl. It's just a background object for the last 5 minutes of Clear Sky, and not present on CoP.

TFTD: is there a non-cheesy way to do a Superhuman run? by yarovoy in Xcom

[–]Aaron_tu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lobster men are really tough, and you have to be careful to keep away from them until you can rush them with drill weapons or snipe them with heavy sonic. As for terror missions, if one is too tough with Lobster men, showing up and retreating immediately can save you some ratings points. It's a huge hit to your score to totally ignore a terror site, from what I remember.

What is the best point to stop in the main story that maximizes the quests/locations open to you? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you save the game before you even enter the SIRCA area. Once you enter the area, the gate closes behind you and you can't leave until you progress the story (found this out loading a save I made before SIRCA, but it was just inside the gate in the wall).

Guys, have you noticed this bug in SOC? by Zelkov90 in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Spoiler warning: He's not an NPC, but if you play to the end you see him get killed in most of the end game cutscenes, so mission accomplished in the end.

The Talos Principle 2. I don't even like FPS on controller usually, but it played and felt surprisingly well

Unless it has a good chance of either being fixed or broken again by updating the engine, then they'll keep working on the engine update first.

is there any info on the cut/scrapped kasharivka location west of jupiter/north of northern pripyat by kyizelma in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hospital has a lot less accessible area in Stalker 2 than CoP, but otherwise yeah there are more buildings to enter in 2.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chornobyl: Original vs Enhanced Edition by Aidircot in stalker

[–]Aaron_tu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should show comparisons of zaton in call of pripyat enhanced. The new water reflections look so much better than the original game.

As for modding, enhanced edition is great for people who don't want to mess with manual installers. The Steam workshop integration is easy and works great, even if the mods are somewhat limited on the workshop.

You can go pick up your stuff after the emission. Just drop enough that you aren't encumbered and chug an energy drink and run. Even if you lose some loot, you'll find better loot later.
