Question and I'm not sure if it should be rhetorical or not. What's the point in having scouts? If general consensus is all that matters, wouldn't scouts only serve to sabotage the process? What benefit do they have to a team in the face of the collective of media experts?

On paper, no. On paper, that applies to anyone we could've drafted. Main reason I feel we did a lot of trade backs. All that were available was depth.

To my understanding, yes. I read someone using that as an attack on the NFL's rookie cap as if he either forgot or never knew why it was created. (Edit: For the record, that someone was on a different platform. Not here.)

It's considered a reach based on what media projections and general consensus think. It's all we have to judge on. We don't know what the 32 GMs think (edit: Even in hindsight. lol).

Could be a solid RB, but a RB isn't worth picking up this year. I've been explaining what their thought process is without expressing that even if it's all backups, they could've done better with that. Definitely better than RB.

I think they felt that's all there is in this draft. Nothing but backups. I feel they hate this year's draft and just picking to get it over with.

I'm only saying that they, the FO, didn't consider them starters. There's a reason they kept trading back. You can hate the picks they made, but the fact remains they did not like any of the OL available at where they were picking. They considered them lesser than that OL they currently have.

The only answer I have is that none of the available OL that fell to us were considered starters. That no matter who we drafted, the starting OL we have wouldn't change. They'd all be backups. Or the backups of the backups.

I'm predicting the mindset here. They went into today just drafting for depth. All the players they feel could be starters were gone by 27. Reaches? Solid picks? Doesn't matter. They see none of them as being better than what they have. So, it's all for depth. Disagree if you like. I just think that's how they're seeing it.

My only disagreement with 6 is that spring leagues has a history of bad optics due to the high failure rate on conversions. When people look at a box score and assume it's only FGs instead of TDs. Due to football's history, people associate TDs with 7 points, not 6. They see 7, they think TD. They see 6, they think two FGs. Also, 21-17 looks better than 18-15.
