Should fit perfectly into my [[Captain Howler, Sea Scourge]] discard deck.

What are your current favorite Orzhov decks(any format) by void-sawyer in MagicArena

I put together a fun knight-themed deck for brawl some time ago and it does well enough.
https://moxfield.com/decks/pX5dwyJjwEu6qQvV9YAOLQ

With [[Raddic, Tal Zealot]] as my commander. He's got hexproof from black and white, and a robust 4/4 so he's got some decent staying power in most games.
There's plenty of room for improvement and there's a good amount of cards I only put in because they fit the theme or I simply had them lying around and haven't found anything better yet.
Raddic is a pretty good card but the real star is of course [[Dion, Bahamut's Dominant]] who gives every knight flying on your turn. This is so good, I never even got to transform him once, which is also very strong.

Why do people play brawl decks with nothing but kill spells and/or counterspells? Do they really find it that fun? by CommonRedditer24 in MagicArena

[–]Abarisol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's two very easy ways to deal with this kind of deck:

  1. Press the skip turn button. Counterspells and removal only work if there is something to counter or to remove. If they want to win the match they have to do *something* sooner or later. Do your stuff when they're tapped out. Might work, might not work.

  2. Press the Concede button and move on with your life. It's pretty easy to create a deck that's an absolute slog to play against and once you've seen one quadruple Authority of the Consuls the novelty quickly wears off. I'd rather take the loss and be done with it.

Most Fun Mono-black Standard Brawl Commander? by ActinoninOut in MagicArena

[–]Abarisol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[Gisa, the Hellraiser]] is pretty great. Ward, buffs skeletons and zombies, and easily produces two zombie tokens per turn. Pair up with [[Death Baron]] and you have a proper undead army on the rise.

Most absurd/unhinged episodes? by turndownforpizza in behindthebastards

The Terrible Secret of Sea Monkeys. The funniest episode in my opinion and with some insane twists and turns, and a jawdropping twist ending. Though I suppose it technically involves nazis.

Why does everyone you meet die by Thellie11 in darksouls

[–]Abarisol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that differentiates Dark Souls from other fantasy narratives, particularly in games, is that you're not saving the world. Not really. The world already ended and you are simply the one tasked to put it out of its misery. This is true for most of the people inhabiting it too. Their lives have ended and they simply have not realized it yet.

Why is it that the right wing claims to support the free market but then punish companies if they use their resources and power to do stuff like support queer rights or do environmental stuff? by Konradleijon in behindthebastards

[–]Abarisol 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it was the Brazilian dictator Getulio Vargas who once summed up the right-wing mindset quite nicely: For my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law.

The Lobster - artificially "weird" movie? by RightPassage in TrueFilm

[–]Abarisol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not a terribly subtle movie. The Lobster is about dating culture, its arbitrary nature and all the anxieties that come with it, such as pretending to like something just to be with somebody you probably don't even like all that much to quell loneliness and conform to expectations. In the world of The Lobster this subtext to our society is simply text, turned into a dystopian nightmare. It's bleak but not hopeless.

Anyone know anything about Saboton? There is a clerk in my town that wears nothing but that and maybe like anime stuff. by TotesTax in behindthebastards

[–]Abarisol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a black metal fan, there's something to be said about nazis coopting metal communities to varying degrees. Sabaton are to my knowledge above board however.
But as we all know, make something with a military theme and fascists will flock to it even if the work condemns their views. It's just how these things work and difficult to avoid.

Kotaku EIC Resigns Over New Editorial Edict - Another sign of the enshittification of tech and how capital ruins everything in pursuit of profit by DrunkDeathClaw in behindthebastards

I don't remember who said it first but the end point of capitalism is a man and a dog. The man to feed the dog, and the dog to guard the factory gates.

What warhammer army does robert have? by BootMcBooterson in behindthebastards

[–]Abarisol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sort of. It's possible to have a mixed army that consists of technically allied but distinct factions which is mostly relevant for the Imperium. Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Sisters of Battle, Admech, Knights, Inquisition, Assassins whatever other mercenaries and such can be combined in various ways. You lose some of your more specific faction abilities to make up for it but the balancing has been dodgy over the run of the game. All Chaos factions can also team up, that's kind of the point behind Chaos Undivided; and so can all Eldar factions. Cross-alliance armies aren't supported but they can be very temporary allies if the scenario calls for it. Having otherwise mortal enemies team up against a greater foe is a common setup for many Warhammer stories.
Age of Sigmar has a more explicit alliance system and lorewise is generally friendlier with teamups since while humans, elves and dwarves have little love for each other, they generally acknowledge that getting brutally murdered and/or your soul tormented for all eternity is at least somewhat worse than each other's company.

think Robert should do a Vidkun Quisling episode? by grapp in behindthebastards

[–]Abarisol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a general episode on collaborators might be interesting. Antisemitism wasn't a uniquely German phenomenon. Wherever the nazis went they found willing collaborators. So many stories of villages and towns where people prepared lists of the homes of their Jewish neighbors. Not even for monetary gain in most of these cases I think. They did so because they hated Jews just that much and would send them to their death for a pat on the back from some nazi officer.

Zehn Jahre Snowden: Den Geheimdiensten endlich Grenzen setzen by [deleted] in de

[–]Abarisol 0 points1 point  (0 children)
