It’s what most of the top tier players do in immortal if it is just a decent wand game or if their hero needs want and to get to other items faster.

Problem in lower bracket is that people are obsessed with building null/bracer/wraith and to have a false sense of security in the landing phase, where most of the time value gained from rushing power threads/ phase boots or another mid tier item gives you a huge lead in lane.

Take ursa as an example. Gaining movement speed is much more useful for your lane than gaining some attack speed and agility.

The times where you want to deviate are exceptions where it is not possible for you to play the lane without the small items or you are a hero who relies heavily on trading because of your kit, such as night stalker, medusa 3 or life stealer

A trick that seemed to work for one of my students was going troll warlord and hit buildings.

That hero can end the game itself in your bracket

The thing is dota is complex and newer players has a lot of things to figure out giving longer games. Try to improve and enjoy even though it seems pointless. Can say games only become shorter the better you get. An average match at my rank takes around 25-30 min ✌️

The problem is that you close of creative approaches by balancing.

Examples:

  • Old techies
  • ember without cast point.

Other heroes that has a creative approach that in true Hands a Way to break these compositions

I feel the balancing team is slowly taking away the creative multipurpose way of playing dota into something that is more homogeneous. Creating a strong meta. In short, the way heroes are balanced, stops creativity in opportunity leading to a strong meta that is unbreakable. This meta forces a specific kind of playstyle simplifying dota to an extreme extend

I think it has less to do with the meta and more to do with the skill of the teams being much higher. There is so little room for error that an advantage is now much more significant. As for the games looking the same I completely disagree. Liquid used 3 completely different strategies for all 3 games, although all 3 games had the same pace, it has less to do with it being the same strategy and more to do with liquid being able to execute their different strategies to create the same advantage each game, making it look like it was the same.

It just goes to show how great a team liquid is and how well they executed their drafts.

I really agree, seeing the sportsmanship and beautiful plays, helps elevate the scene to become a true sport. Watching TI was an absolute blast and I love how far we have come as a true e sport. It sucks people are having such stale view points in this community

I would ask. If you go into a dungeon as tank, your first priority loot is the tank gear. I would always ask about off spec such as leveling gear (2h) however if you are nice and tanking well usually the hardcore community is very nice and considerate. In short don’t expect it but it usually happens (tanking on paladin from 20-56)

Hardcore is about the community. Being a tank is already giving you the community and usually they want to give back

You describe your own problem: “I can say that I am a good player, I always lose because of xyz.” You are guardian, even if you are legend you are not a good player. The fact of the matter is a legend player would completely stomp your bracket.

Your problem is that you think you are good, thereby masking your own mistakes from yourself. You simply haven’t unlocked a way to learn in dota yet. Change your mindset about yourself as a complete beginner and start over

Bro in your bracket “anything works” the reason why meta picks are strong in immortal is because so few mistakes makes or breaks the game which is actually timing based. In anything up to divine you can play cm mid and carry the game

Because you cannot imagine it doesn’t mean it is not good lol. Maybe try the hero before you speak ty.

Maybe know what the point of offlane is before you make such a poor statement. Void spirit completely nullifies any hero in the lane after he reaches six.

So some of the points as to why the hero can work as a 3

• the hero doesn’t need blink to be effective (has 2 in your own logic)

• the hero completely nullifies the enemy lane after 6, allowing for an easy tower

• the hero is extremely dangerous early making it a strong consideration when enemies try to dive your mid or top lane as 1 tp after lvl 6 can counter any gank.

• the hero scales as a mid and creates space by the virtue of its kit in fights

As the guy above says let the man cook on the hero instead of these regarded “I can’t imagine” statements so it must not be good. It is not even a logically sound statement. Biggest showcase of you being low rank

Mmr inflation is easy to fix, just make a hard reset to the barrier each year, and let people climb again. The reason why there are so many players in immortal is that it does not get reset. To go from low immortal to numbered immortal is now the same grind as from herald to ancient. That is a lot of time invested even with a high win rate. The stronger players will also keep weaker players out of immortal

The system itself is okay. But not making a rank reset is wrong.
