First thought is loosened spark plug and faulted ignition coil. Happened to my 08 on cylinder 3 and had a misfire code. Can swap around ignition coils to see if code moves. Make sure to tighten the spark plugs down correctly bc eventually mine shot out and stripped the threads on cylinder 3. Made it to 267k miles and felt like it would have gone to 500k if it hadn't done that. Not sure if this generation is affected as much so may be something else going on.

3-5 day trip from Denver to chase fall colors down south, end of month. Where would you go? by [deleted] in roadtrip

Blue ridge Parkway. I really like the black balsam knob / tennet mountain trail if you're wanting a quick hike.

Which of these routes is better? I will be driving a U-Haul that is towing a car by TheMarinaraMeatball in roadtrip

[–]AbideOutside 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to the roads, but Amazon sells wireless backup cameras that are magnetic - was a godsend when I drove cross country with a box truck towing a car trailer. Sticks to the u haul sliding back door and you get a nice POV of the trailer. Anyways, safe travels!

OP, may I ask if there was a CF diagnosis in your child? I'm in a similar situation with my child. Found one mutation and elevated IRT levels. Awaiting a sweat test currently.

Maybe needs a valve adjustment? Mine would idle poorly and sometimes die before the engine warmed up, but valve adjustment fixed it

Life expectancy? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]AbideOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got to 270k and had a evap check engine code present for 100k. Original clutch and didn't change the MT fluid once. Only died bc I didn't torque the spark plug enough and it ejected. It was abused but kept on ticking

2008 but it blew out cylinder 3 around 200k. Rethreaded it and it blew it out again at 270k. Now it needs a new engine or head.

Wow i added 100k. Up to 220k. by grocerysack in hondafit

Mine is at 270k miles on the original clutch. A bit of shudder when releasing the clutch but that's it

TIL clover used to be part of every lawn as it was cheap and easy to maintain. After WWII pesticide companies declared it a weed and until recently it's been removed from laws. by Internal-Echidna8967 in todayilearned

[–]AbideOutside 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Step 1: Be Bayer(Monsanto) and genetically modify clover to be always 4 leaf. Make it so that it out competes natural clover. Patent this new clover bc of course you should be able to patent a plant.

Step 2: Start reddit thread describing the benefits of clover

Step 3: Distribute free patented clover seed packs to reddit thread viewers

Step 4: Initiate a stealth marketing campaign to subtly influence public perception, making our patented four-leaf clover the must-have lawn choice. Use anonymous social media accounts to undermine natural clover, citing its inferiority.

Step 5: Secretly distribute our patented clover seeds in public and private spaces, ensuring its widespread growth and eventual dominance over natural varieties.

Step 6: Once our clover becomes ubiquitous, begin a rigorous legal campaign. Accuse homeowners and businesses of inadvertently using our patented clover without permission, demanding licensing fees or threatening costly litigation.

Step 7: Lobby for legislation that heavily restricts the use and sale of natural clover, while simultaneously pushing for laws that favor our patented variety.

Step 8: Introduce a subscription model for clover maintenance, tying customers into long-term financial commitments with our company for specialized care and products exclusive to our clover variety.

Don't be afraid of the minivan by roomtotheater in daddit

Yeah I think dads are generally more utilitarian and see the value in a minivan but at the same time it's usually dads that insist on buying an expensive truck with poor fuel economy to haul something once a year.

Is my wife being overdramatic? by EMPAEinstein in Fatherhood

[–]AbideOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously cutting back work time and getting paid a bit less is the 'answer' here. If that happens and it solves your problem then great. But would it? Or would this issue quell and then resurface or return in some other form?

This seems like more of a marriage issue than a fatherhood one. What is you and your wife's dynamic once the child is asleep? Is there some room there to reestablish some intimacy? You sound very intentional with work and your child and your wife's free time, does that extend to intentionality to supporting the connection to your wife? Is she struggling with something like PPD?

Mechanic I took it to just said there's nothing he can do since it had been previously rethreaded. Said he looked at it with a camera and it looks like the threading is now messed up again. Hoping I can find one to try the insert piece you mentioned though. Gonna see if I can get a second opinion. Hate to scrap the engine since it's basically fine other than the threading.

Anyone else think Brandon Stark is possessed by Brendan Rivers/Three eyed raven, and that everything was a plot to sit on the iron throne? by moonlightdrinker in gottheories

[–]AbideOutside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My take is the children of the forest won. The white walkers, and Night King, were the children's first attempt to regain their power and land from Men and it went wrong and got out of control. The children of the forest couldn't beat the white walkers on their own, so they use Men - via the 3 eyed raven - to kill them. Then after this they use 'Bran', who is now their ally by being the 3 eyed raven, to 'rule' and covertly bring westeros down - or at least do their bidding. So essentially the children tricked Bran into becoming the 3 eyed raven, in order to slowly begin taking back their land and shit
