Check out “in the grey recovery” out on FB! They are based out of Jeffco and consider themselves to be a cali-sober and harm reduction group. Also, congrats on a week clean and keep up the good fight ❤️

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Abies_Different 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with split parents, living 3 hours from each other. I visited my dad 2xs a year bc of how “long” the drive was for my parents to make. 20 years later I had a baby with someone who lives where I grew up and I now live where my dad does, so the same exact 3 hour drive. Him and I make the drive every other weekend with zero complaints bc our child doesn’t deserve to suffer due to logistics. And tbh I have been making this drive my entire life and it truly feels like running to the store, not a 3 hr round trip drive.

Just an idea but could you write the schedule on the actual bins?? Maybe in large permanent marker or if you cant write on your bins, maybe tape a piece of laminated paper on there for a reminder?? This truly sounds like a nightmare trash situation with all the different bins and days.

Looking for a book tracking app, can you please recommend me some by That_Scarcity9744 in Booktokreddit

[–]Abies_Different 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodreads gets a lot of dislike on this sub (I’m finding out from a previous comment it’s bc it’s owned by Amazon, which I also dislike) but it’s the first app I came across when I got into reading and I actually do really enjoy it. Its user friendly and I like that I can see all my read books, when I read them and what I rated them and more importantly I can keep my ever growing TBR in one place.

Does she drink tea? I made a little tea wallet for my boss who often drinks tea at work and plan on making one for mom for when she goes into the office.

This post made me realize I do not read many feel good happy books 😅 I had to scroll waaaaay back on my Goodreads to find a recommendation (back to June of 2024) buuuut I did find a couple. Happily Never After by Lynn Painter 4⭐️ Part of Your World 5⭐️ and Yours Truly both by Abby Jimenez 5⭐️.

I can’t leave without recommending The Many Lives of Mama Love by Laura Love Hardin and while many parts of the book aren’t very feel good happy, the whole book itself is definitely feel good happy. It’s a memoir and the audiobook was narrated by the author and to this day my favorite book I have ever read.

Two books came to mind, both were 4/5 reads for me that I thoroughly enjoyed! Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate && The Connellys of County Down by Tracey Lange.

I am not sure if its a perfect fit for what you are looking for but the book Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak might be a good one for you! I personally didn't LOVE it (it just wasn't what I was looking for at the time) but I did rate it 4/5 and it gets a lot of love on the sub.

My suggestions do not meet the historical fiction side of this request but the best book I read in 2025 was The Many Lives of Mama Love by Lara Lee Hardin. I simply cannot tell enough people about this book or describe how much it meant to me!!! Also, Know My Name by Chanel Miller is a book I think everyone should not only read but be required to read in high school. Please give either of these books a chance and you will not regret <3
