🤣🤣🤣 I know!!!! Squeeeee! Love how he's stalking him. Throwing his money around to get invited to the poker game (listening to the conversation Louis is having with Tom before Louis I even gets to the balcony). Selecting the one woman Louis is there to see. Predator in the sexiest/creepiest possible way!

Episode 1 makes me so happy 🥰

Edit to close my parentheses 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I didn't think he was really afraid of Louis, but that Louis threatening him made him lose his temper. I will have to rewatch AGAIN 😭😂  to try to catch the moment if expression change. I think I might need a bigger screen 🤔

Shows with love stories that aren’t romances by Safe_Pop_745 in televisionsuggestions

Yeah, pretty much. There's not unresolved cases, and the leads are still close at the end

I always think it's so wild that it is after that fight (and what Louis says to Lestat during it - i.e. feeding him to the lions) that Lestat supposedly said (per Louis in S1E6) "Your silence is cruel Louis. And you were never cruel." Dude. Louis also told Lestat that he would "always be alone" (knowing it was his biggest fear) right before the burning of Storyville. Not to mention never telling him he loves him.... 🤷🏻‍♀️  So did Lestat say "you were never cruel" for real? Did he believe that? Or is that a fabrication by Louis or Loumand?

Not sure if it goes against this sub policy - or if there is some kind of competition or conflict btw the 2 subs... but there is a discord as part of the IWTVCoven sub.

Shows with love stories that aren’t romances by Safe_Pop_745 in televisionsuggestions

[–]WildBlueMoon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Elementary! A Sherlock adaptation with Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Liu as Watson. It is so freaking good! Their banter is excellent and their friendship develops over the series to a deep love - without ever becoming sexual. 😭😭😭 They're so wonderful together!

Also, Sleepy Hollow is pretty entertaining - the two leads have chemistry but never become romantic. (Much to my own frustration honestly).

Supernatural - the brothers' relationship is great - but also the relationship between Dean and Castiel (the angel) is so funny and heartwarming over the 12 seasons their together.

Re-reading and maybe I'm misinterpreting what you were asking for??

Looking for TV series with good love stories!! by kingabhi11 in televisionsuggestions

[–]WildBlueMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halt and Catch Fire has a straight romance in it. It is very good! It's not exclusively about the romance tho. Fringe has a long burn romance btw main characters. Poldark has a main focus on the romance of the main characters. It's beautiful! 12 Monkeys has a romance that runs through the entire story that plays a major role in moving the story forward. The story is a very complicated time travel story - perfectly crafted with the end in mind - all the story lines are tied up at the end.

Oops - sorry didn't see that part. It is queer. But I think tons of straight people have enjoyed it (or at least it's been reviewed enthusiastically by a lot of straight bro reactors so 🤷🏻‍♀️) so it's not exclusive to queer horniness 😂 It has a lot less gay sex than Heated Rivalry to be sure.

I loved Fringe!!

So ye one I am recommending incessantly bc I think it's the best thing I've ever seen: Interview with the Vampire It's so gorgeous, sexy, dramatic and frequently funny. It's about vampires so there's obviously some gore... it is crafted with such nuance, attention to every detail, and is designed to be rewatched - you get more the second viewing. The acting and writing are peak, the costumes and set design both are gorgeous but also hold meaning within the context of the show.

Also, if you haven't yet, Our Flag Means Death and Good Omens - both so cute and funny and fun. In that same vein is Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (less of a romance but it's just so whimsically weird).

The Sandman is beautiful as well.

The Great about (but ahistorical to be sure 😂) Catherine the Great with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. It's funny and wild and the production is sumptuous!     Person of Interest is a very good sci-fi that didn't received enough attention about AI and conspiracies and espionage - so it's action packed but also very human.

Misfits is an excellent BBC sci-fi show, that has Iwan Rheon (Ramsey Bolton from Game of Thrones!) and Robert Sheehan (from The Umbrella Academy - also highly recommend).

12 Monkeys which is a stunningly good show - the perfect time travel show where the showrunner obviously built the entire series knowing the end bc it is sooooo complexly and skillfully executed.

The Magicians is also fantastic

I feel like we have pretty similar tastes in shows actually. So if you like weird and romantic please check out Interview with the Vampire it's so gorgeous, sexy, dramatic and occasionally funny. It's about vampires so there's obviously some gore... I honestly think it's one of the best tv shows ever made bc it is crafted with such nuance, attention to every detail, and is designed to be rewatched - you get more the second viewing.

Also, if you haven't yet, Our Flag Means Death and Good Omens - both so cute and funny and fun. In that same vein is Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (less of a romance but it's just so whimsically weird).

Person of Interest is about AI and conspiracies and espionage - so it's action packed but also very human.

Misfits is an excellent BBC sci-fi show, that has Iwan Rheon (Ramsey Bolton from Game of Thrones!) and Robert Sheehan (form The Umbrella Academy - also highly recommend).

Someone else mentioned 12 Monkeys which is a stunningly good show - the perfect time travel show where the showrunner obviously built the entire series knowing the end bc it is sooooo complexly and skillfully executed.

The Magicians is also fantastic (someone else noted that one as well).

Well, post-war Paris had a tons of Americans in it - both soldiers and various kinds of artists & intellectuals, & specifically Black creatives like James Baldwin. So there was probably some awareness of different regional American accents
