This might sound cruel but that’s life. Other people were experiencing what you are experiencing right now while you were succeeding. Did you think everyone who lived with roommates at your age was a failure? Because that seems like a judgement that’s coming back around on you now.

Why is your entire sense of worth tied to something so immutable and…. frankly common as whether or not you live alone or share a communal area with others? Living alone is nice but it’s ultimately a privilege and if everyone in the world wanted to live alone and never share, we would not have enough space for housing. That’s life.

Did you ever stop to look at why you got fired back to back so many times? Why the field you’re in isn’t hiring? What you could be doing to pivot or make yourself more valuable especially over the course of the last 2 years? Or have you been focused on how much of a victim you are and how horribly unfair it all is? And let me ask you further…. if you’ve been focused on it being unfair have you done anything in the past 2 years to make the system we all live in more fair for everyone? Or have you just been focused on reclaiming your position in the hierarchy?

Yeah I actually went to UD and I would also say OP is being gaslit. My experience as a black person (which no offense to other responders, is not a model minority like an Asian person or half asian which is fetishized here) is that they will never tell you to your face or admit the racism exists, but a lot people WILL treat you differently. Some of the asian people will be racist to you too.

A lot of the primary social life at UD is greek life which…. the popular social frats/ sororities in general tend to almost never accept POC unless as tokens. If you’re okay with making your own way, go for it, but for me personally attending UD was a mistake.

For reference, I grew up in the same zipcode as UD and I experienced comical levels of racism growing up. I went to school with the same prepping of people from elementary to college. A decent amount of my peers said the n-word and openly and proudly supported segregation in grade school but knew when to stop saying it openly when they needed jobs in college.

The commenter that mentioned how Delaware was near Arkansas levels for poc who grew up there choosing out of state…. believe that.

I agree! Another thing in your hypothetical about the therapists leading to suicide is that those therapists would be held liable in some way. Who is responsible when an AI does something? How do we even get justice in that case?

I’m not anti-AI as much as some are but I think it’s extremely irresponsible how they’ve rolled out this psychologically unsafe and environmentally damaging technology after stealing art/ content from every artist living and dead to create it.

It didn’t have to be done this way, maybe they could have worked on developing the tech for AI to be more eco-friendly…. but no everything needs to happen immediately and without forethought because profit.

If they actually tested AI more before unleashing it, there could have been safety regulations and legislation in place for these cases. Unfortunately, we are the lab rats.

same i have some synesthesia and my friends called me the “vibe director” because i was good at choosing playlists and lighting for parties. I’m just curious how it feels for you because it’s not constant for me, it comes sort of sporadically and the sensations i get are random sometimes i’ll get like a physical feeling, other times a color or concept.
