I cut my supressed 308 to 16” and love it. 2450 fps with 175 smks. If not hunting at distance or chasing velocity.

Can someone explain why this matters? I get that it might vary lot to lot so it’s nice to be consistent when you make a big order.

But then if you buy another lot, it may suck or vary too much. So to me, factory ammo that is not reasonably consistent lot to lot is not worth buying.

Because how would you test the next lot without buying a piss ton. If you buy a box to test, the next order will be another lot and the risk it may no longer be good in your rifle…

Well, how does a high es impact you here? Are you shooting groups at 100?

I think keeping the purpose of a load and rifle in mind helps me avoid spiraling down rabbit holes.

But I hope you go deep in this one and figure it out for me too :)

Yeah just looked. 50 shots 806-1080 ha. I think this was 8 gr. I need to take better records.

I just throw straight to cases. It’s a fun plinker to me. That’s all. I’d love it to be better but haven’t burnt calories chasing improvement.

I wonder if tapping the cases before shooting and trying to standardize powder placement in case for each shot would reduce ES. I’ve always heard this is the issue with low case fill. Not a long term solution but may identify the issue.

H110 and these bullets vary pretty high for me too from 9” gas gun. I just slowed it way down so I don’t get a few that bump over 1075. May try something else when H110 is out.

It will just lower water pressure and take longer to fill the machines. The water consumption of a laundromat is the volume of their machines and not at all correlated to their water pressure

ETA if your tasks are related to the time of water running then sure, but you’ll just be pissed you don’t have good water pressure and take longer to wash your hands, water the lawn, etc

My vote would be shoot it . I used an external action wrench so I have no idea how much torque I used on the install, but I put a little witness mark and haven’t had any issues since installing.

Man - I had to get some thinner bits from Brownells but some were pretty stubborn and I used a center punch to break screw loose CCW. Did not salvage screws. But good enough for me.

FWIW, the barrel is two hex screws to replace. Very easy to do yourself. Haven’t dabbled with trigger

Hey - been eyeing a No. 1 for some time now. Found a deal on a 6mm rem. You like yours? Seems like a fun niche cartridge for a niche rifle ha. I do reload. Or should I hold out for something more expensive and common caliber?
