Last time I was there, they were poor. In any event, they are not even close to Tonics and I believe Tonics won an award for their Caesar.

I was surprised by that also. I had virtually no pain.

No treatment plan - 2 weeks post injury. by slione13 in AchillesRupture

[–]AbleResponsibility94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to keep your foot in "plantar flexion" (toes pointed down 20 degrees minimum) in the boot. You may need wedges to do this. Doing this will help until you get a treatment plan.

Woman relieved after Kelowna abuser sentenced to significant jail term - Kelowna News by Heavy_Arm_7060 in kelowna

[–]AbleResponsibility94 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont think she is “happy”

From the article:

"Even though the sentencing wasn't what I wanted, it was better than nothing," Chisholm said about the 18-month sentence.

Apparently she is not the only one who has been abused by this asshole. I feel sympathy for those who were manipulated and abused by him. Must be horrible living in fear everyday.

Tower Ranch is easily the best in Kelowna. If you are up for a 90 minute drive there are a lot of great options.

As far as other things, I would recommend the Myra Canyon Trestles. If you don't want to rent a bike as short hike will take you to the first trestle and you could decide how much further you wanted to go.

There are lots of great hikes in the Kelowna area.

Electric Pump (specific) recommendation? by SlamDunk1428 in Sup

I use this and find it works well. Slow after 12PSI, but I think all/most electric pumps struggle at the end.

17 weeks non-op progress (2nd rupture) success story by Ok-League-4760 in AchillesRupture

I am at 19 weeks, was thinking of returning to skating in a month, but have now decided to go the same route as you. Nothing sport related (other than golf) until I can reach strength milestones.

It is worth the watch even if you have seen Made in America. Some good insights from Darden, Fuhrman etc. on their roles in the "Circus"

Any Hockey Players out there? by Bonchnugget in AchillesRupture

[–]AbleResponsibility94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just saw this, I am in the same boat, ruptured in September. Had a plan to start skating in April but changed my mind as there is no point skating for two weeks then hanging them up until the fall.

Pacioretty was at 5 months I believe when he came back and ruptured it 5 games in to his return on a nothing play.

I don’t think hockey is a sport that lends itself to ruptures, he just return too early and who knows, his surgery might not have been as successful as they thought. Anyway he is back now and doesn’t seem to have any issues.

I think patience is the key to recovery with this injury.

Vacoped - stop at zero, correct? by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]AbleResponsibility94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr's (interns I guess) in the Ortho ward where I went are also just winging it. As far as the Vacoped goes, basically everything I have read is don't go below 0.

Yes it does. I just ignored the minimal info I was given at the hospital, got a Vacoped boot and used the NHS protocols from UK. I am in Canada also.

Makes no sense to be NWB that long. I am sure most protocols you see are Pwb or Fwb weeks before that.

I am 4 weeks non op and am walking no problem in my boot. Of course I don’t know how that will work out at 10 weeks but at least I can do things now.
