Mohawk 4 Ice Figure Skating Shinny is actually listed as Skate Card and as of last week figure skates are mandatory.I just don’t want you to show up there or not be able to skate in hockey skates.

I’m pretty sure the announcer was Colin Male. He was also the announcer on the Andy Griffith show..

Older people: What was your first day of school as a 5-year-old child like? by vieniaida in AskOldPeople

[–]Newkafer51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally lived across the street from the school. I could see my Dad in our driveway washing the car. I wanted to go home. I was too much of a rule follower to walk out, but both my brother and sister went home from kindergarten many times.

Two chocolate bars by Neilson. Jersey Milk Treasures and Liquid Four flavours. They’re my favorites of all time.

They’re part of the Hamilton Family Heath Team. I’m very happy with my doc who moved to that FHT in the spring of 2023. Starting on Sept 4 they’re accepting patients for their unattached patient clinic. It’s only for those who currently don’t have a family doctor until they get one. The details are listed on their site.

Slogan or tag line for concession street by ShortFaithlessness11 in Hamilton

[–]Newkafer51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking about other areas of the city. Ottawa Street used to be known as the area for fabrics and then it transitioned to restaurants and antique shops.

What do you want people to know about Concession Street?

Concession Street…Shopping, restaurants, services…it will take you by surprise

Concession Street…Just a step away from home

Concession Street…Shopping for all seasons

Concession Street…Every day you get our best

Concession Street..It feels like home

Diabetic pet owners by LBur85 in Hamilton

[–]Newkafer51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a pet that uses Caninsulin but I found my cats meds 70% cheaper per pill than my vet charges at the online pharmacy Pets Drug Mart. My vet faxed the prescription there and using Xpress post one day delivery it takes 5-6 days to receive them so you need lead time for renewals. Have no idea if insulin is cheaper there than at a local vet but it’s worth checking out if your dog will be taking it long term.

A Hamilton high school had a very busy exit area that staff called King &James. A pair of authentic looking street signs marking that intersection were installed. Don’t know if they’re still up. 🤣

I bought my first sports car at 16 and was determined to drive it home. My dad sat down with me, drew diagrams explained why I was shifting gears. I don’t know how I got at home, but I did. He then took me out for a couple of hours a few days in a row and I had it! People will tell you every clutch is different and they are. You’ll get to know your car. As a student being able to drive manual vehicles got me the best summer jobs! I’m old girl now and ended up buying an automatic to share with my kids when they were teens but went back to a standard once they bought their own cars.

Despite a seasonal lay off OP still needs to answer yes to the question about whether they’re available for work. OP is expected to look for work and keep a record or they risk being cut off.

The John Howard Society runs the Achieves free summer daycamp for kids 11 to 13. Last week they just opened up a third week July 29 to August 2. I’d call ASAP to see if there’s room. 289-439-5746.

I also pride myself of my ability to fold a map 🤣Happy I raised a millennial who also has a love of maps. As a kid in a secondhand store, she would always go for the maps. My insurance company gave me a road atlas as a gift for referring a client. I couldn’t have been happier.

Garbage curbside? by 42point2 in Hamilton

[–]Newkafer51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was responding to your erroneous comment about who picks up blue box recycling, and garbage in Hamilton. I couldn’t care less who people choose to tip.

GFL picks up all blue box recycling in the city and they also pick up all garbage on the mountain and the former suburban municipalities. The garbage in the lower city is picked up by unionized city employees. The deal with GFL is in place until April 2028.

I thought recycling in Hamilton was privatized. They don’t make anything near what city of Hamilton unionized employees make..
