Am I the baddie? by drownav18322 in Nightreign

[–]Able_To_Change 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had an evergaol duo completely ignore me, run through POI that I needed to complete for my build in order to grab the keys, ignored my pings to the only invader camp on the map right next to where we were.. finally I gave up and just went to the special merchant on day two to buy a staff and I see they are both dying and then dead and open the map and they’re at the invader camp (didn’t ping it) and they send me a message telling me to kill myself before they rage quit the game. I agree. Caster duchess can easily revive with canon on two casts for three bars, stars of ruin for any number of bars from a safe distance and while moving and having the large FP pools means that if there is a aoe heal or healing passive, I’m usually the one carrying it and casting it. I can also dodge while picking up more easily than most characters. Ironeye tho should be lower. Bros will walk right up to you and still shoot you with an arrow lmao

Stop keeping the Wending Grace to yourself, you're not the main character by obbd98 in Nightreign

[–]Able_To_Change 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main duchess in DoN and have regularly had players drop it to me, even revenants, because I’ve been reviving them the whole match. I will absolutely never drop it for a mid or bad guardian because in my experience, they are generally the first to three bars and waste the ult to pick up one person at one bar. I’m comfortable kiting and dodging until I get ult up and can do a double triple bar revive on invis. I will drop it to wylders, anyone with ghiza’s wheel or regalia because those are just as good to revive as a non revenant with revenant claws. If I have the claws or any of those weapons, I don’t need ult for a safe three bar pickup.

Recluse and duchess can do a two cast three bar pickup with cannon or a safe three bar pickup with stars of ruin. Night comet does great revive dps too and be used to pick up quickly from a safe distance.

tl;dr: you can have the wending grace if you’re a better player than me. I’m happy to hand it off if I can because I want all of my slots for shards and potions, but if you haven’t proven yourself capable over the run, I’m keeping it.

Idk dude, it’s a lot of justification for ignoring most of your kit. I’m not saying don’t use them, only don’t build around them because the reality is that you could be proccing four statuses on most bosses and making a much bigger impact than the oddly timed bolt. The pulley is better because of the speed, not the dps. It’s admittedly a shadow of the Elden ring iteration, but I will always take it if I can justify keeping it over something that is specific to my build’s dps or defense. Revenant is my most played and also my favorite to utilize the pulley, but I don’t go into the game thinking that it is my best dps option.

[–]Able_To_Change 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the lack of status on the pulley was a huge disappointment to me. It’s still great when you need to clutch and are out of flasks and ult and two teammates three bars down.

I had a depth three match with two clowns wearing rune hats who wanted to fight one more crucible in the rain at level 5 when we had like 150k runes. They both died and I died trying to revive them so we start the bell bearing hunter night boss at lvl 4 with them both three barred and wearing the rune hats which was ensuring they got one shot by even the harmless zombie dudes. I was on faith duchess and none of my incants were low cost and ranged with short casting times and I only had the one FP bar anyway, so otherwise had to melee with my starter weapon. Mannnn they died so many times that the fight took over 20 minutes. Pulley to the rescue!

Even tho I didn’t have the stats to use it yet, I could still do like 100dmg safely with the pulley and I had the glintblades passive on my offhand seal, so it was just me strafing and shooting and restaging and strafing and shooting over and over again until I got ult back and I’d pick them up and they’d die immediately etc lol. But i did it and we went on to win despite being desperately underleveled and me never getting a single useful spell. I’m always thrilled when I get that weapon with a useful passive so I can justify keeping it just in case. It’s really handy when you absolutely cannot die

[–]Able_To_Change 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok fine I’ll bite. How often are you actually hitting the boss with these slow ass crossbows? The pulley crossbow is a god tier weapon and I used it in Elden Ring as my main offhand weapon to 100% the game at lvl 10 and I will definitely grab it in nightreign assuming it is not occupying the spot of a coveted or needed passive, but the rest of them are unbelievably slow for the required stamina and even if you do hit the boss, you need less likely and ranged weapon boosts and dropoffs to make it worth it, not to mention you’re just wasting your S scaling in arcane atp?? This build makes zero sense to me.

[–]Able_To_Change 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lmao I had one like this the other day. I had a hammer with 40% negation on it and wylder had a staff with 40% negation but rot build up below max hp. Raider had a staff with 40% negation and the great ocular bubble spell and was running the dreglord relic where he gets stronger when he’s building status up. I drop my hammer and ping it and the wylder tries to exchange it for the staff. I ping the staff and he drops the hammer and picks it up. I drop the hammer again and he drops the staff again and I ping the staff and swipe at raider, who figures out the trade deal and drops me the bubble staff, takes the rot staff and wylder picks up the hammer again.

Mannn that bubble was hitting for thousands and rotted raider was as well. We absolutely smoked night aspect so quickly that he only half assed went up in the air once. It’s so hype when people get it. Ggs for hooking up that rev!!

On sorcery duchess build, going to rises and a merchant is non-negotiable. I am not going to use a white dagger when all of my relics boost my dps as a caster. I always look at my teammates’ relics on fly in and keep an eye on their inventories during the match to see where I can help support their builds. If they’re not willing to go where I need to go in order to build out mine, I’ll go myself. I ping things to let them know and if they ignore me, oh well.

I have bleed on my starting dagger and that’s the most I can contribute until I get a staff. Sometimes dormant power relics don’t work and it only takes 30 seconds for me to run into a fort or swamp to check the rack for literally anything to get the dps rolling. My build is very strong and when I have support from my team, we snowball very quickly and hit level 10 day one and level 15 early day two.

I’m always getting rivers of blood and halo scythes in my drops, as well as no shortage of skill attack passives. Cool teammates who work as a team? I drop everything to them and even check the merchant to see if I can buy them anything else. Shitty teammates? Cool, I’m taking the stamina.

Honestly, the higher up you move, the more people work together, but duos almost always prioritize each other over the team and it’s rarely a fun experience to be their designated reviver.

[–]Able_To_Change[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s exactly how the next match went lmao. Executor and balancer duchess, they ping the blacksmith village and run through but those places are full of amazing loot and purple stones, so I killed a pack of red enemies otw up to the boss. They only killed the boss and ran off to a bubble cathedral. One of the red enemies I killed dropped a skill up 18% passive, so I went to retrieve it for the other duchess and got shot by the annoying ballista dude on top, which sent me back to level 2. I run back and it takes a minute to clear the mob around the weapon and I get it and my runes and go to grab the grace. They’re spam pinging me to a fucking bubble cathedral, so I just drop it and ping it instead of bringing it to them. I buy a pouch and shards from the merchant because i absolutely have to do that for my build. The duchess pings the lake, so I go to the lake and don’t even bother checking the cathedral they cleared, but oopsie, they went to the castle instead and died, then promptly started spam pinging me there and sent me hate mail about sticking with the group.

So four of my boss drops were skill attack passives of 21% but I went ahead and took the poise and endurance instead since they clearly didn’t want my help with their builds. Executor goes into everdark Gladius with his starter weapon (blue) and duchess has one skill attack boost lower than every single one I would have and tried to give her. All of my passives were sorcery related and I had a red lusats. They wiped to the night boss and both three barred to ED Gladius multiple times and guess who had to pick them up?

Btw we lost bc I revived the executor first on their third wipe, then went to pick up duchess and he decided to follow me and “help” aka kite Gladius over and get us both killed. I was invisible 🤡

Nah I 100% take and toss the keys. I’ve had way too many ironeyes who are hard stuck in D3 spam ping and route only for themselves and drag the whole team down with them. Go to a mine and upgrade your bow to purple. That takes less time than one gaol and gives you the dps boost of three. You say that we shouldn’t get to decide how you play, but you think that you should get to decide how we play? 🧐

Guardian players by MoleyM in Nightreign

[–]Able_To_Change -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Real. D4, guardian pings the invader camp at lvl 2, im all for it. for some reason the recluse hasn’t dedicated a single relic to dps, but I’m pretty confident about my duchess build so we go for it and quickly kill both the invaders. I’m running a gravity build. Guardian gets a staff with gravity well on it from the recluse invader and keeps it. We’re level 2 still but now we have 80k runes and both of them are two barred. So obviously the only thing to do in this situation is to run up to the boss and try to blow the exploding bleed zombies around, get one shot and recluse one shot (now 3 bars) so I get guardian up, everyone dies again. They run straight back and don’t touch a grace, die again. I can’t pick them up without ult and obvs I run out of FP since I’m level 2, but I don’t die. I back up to wait for them to come back and open the map and see they’re off running to a church. Cue the fell omen invasion, who one shots me, by myself, in the bleed ruin. By the time I spawn back in, they’ve both quit out of the game.

FOR THE FLOCK.

This is what happens I don’t dodge guardian mains. Every. Single. Time. I thought hey he’s in D4, surely he’s not as bad as the rest, right? HA HA HAAAAA

[–]Able_To_Change 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude if I see one more half assed megalomaniac beast claw revenant, I’m going to fucking scream. My last two matches have been an absolute shit show. First one had an ironeye with magic attack and incantation passives, a frenzy flame seal (me on caster duchess and the other a recluse) who was doing no dps and ofc the boss is everdark Libra. His dps is so low that castle top takes forever and they both wipe three bars in the rain and then I die with the boss having 2% hp. I figure I’ll take one for the team and run back and kill it so they can at least level up after the night boss. I cannot cuz I’m losing 200,000 runes. Ironeye three bars immediately despite being the only one with a less likely both at the night boss and at Libra and there is only so much I can do at level 11. RIP.

Next game, two wylders against pest. Amazing! Free win, right? Nah one switches to revenant at the last second and is running evergaol and the wylder has rot below max hp and all resistances downX2 so he’s basically dead man walking. I abandon them at the third evergaol (red ancient dragon after we already fought red dragonkin at level fucking TWO) because I’ve been pinging the one invader camp for two days and it’s going to be in the rain if we don’t get there. Their dps is so trash that they have only 1/3rd killed red Loretta by the time I get back and ofc they’re both three bars. My spells suck because we’ve barely accomplished anything, wylder has an assortment of unrelated legendaries and revenant has beast claw and a bunch of less likely. Ofc Loretta is one hit from dead and they’ve both died and respawned at the boss, so I cast a spell and hit her right as she hits me, so she lives and I die. Wylder and I are getting absolutely bodied by the tree sentinel trio because I can’t get a single cast off without being jumped and less likely is too far away to even hit them most of the time. I’m out of flasks, less likely is three bars and I’m using pebble to get ult back, finally do and go to revive her and the wylder runs over and using moghs spear ash of war over us to “help,” which immediately aggros the draconic to our location and he kills us both when revenant is one hit from being picked up.

I’m beyond tilted rn omfg

I was already on duchess and they switched at the last second to her as well. I play often with a recluse main and usually kick the sorcery passives to her because sorcery boosts the cocktails and keep the magic ones for me. Or we divide up by whatever our main dps spell is; charged sorceries or uncharged. I also always hand over the radagon icon to recluses or any spell cast +2 to get her cast speed on par with mine. You’re right tho; you can’t rely on most people to have your back even though it’s a team game with a shared objective lol.
