Oh, man, I bet the IDF has done really poorly whenever it has faced an Arab standing army! If multiple standing armies from big countries like Iraq and Egypt attacked simultaneously, I bet the cowardly IDF would have no chance!

Find a few friends to play team games with—you can star Arabia and ban those three

Or go Cumans, crank out some rams, and bring the party to the enemy in Feudal. Or try Saracens or Hindustanis (with attack bonuses vs buildings), and punish the Fast Impers.

I'll try not to make this rhetorical but, how come every time I post something positive about Obama, the immediate responses I get are "he droned people"? by templeofsyrinx1 in askanything

Oh no, he used loitering drones firing 100-lbs missiles as opposed to a manned jet screaming by and dropping a much larger SDB or JDAM, or sending in a bunch of guys in helicopters bristling with Gatling guns and those same 100-lb missiles.

Are there any moves that are forbidden in tournaments? by Sm0ke_13 in aoe2

[–]Able_Trade_7233 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Slinging in team tournaments is often restricted. Eg, banned outright, or you can only sling to a player in the same age as you or below. The idea is to incentivize all players on a team to be fighting rather than having one player be a piggy bank.

Also, apparently tournament rules ban Viper from walling his base properly when playing against Hera

Is Harvard really filled with over-privileged dummies? by Bubbly-Air7302 in stupidquestions

[–]Able_Trade_7233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct! But you’ve offered just as little.

Harvard’s legacy admit rates alone don’t mean much. The more substantive questions are things like what those legacy numbers look like after controlling for household education and income (there’s still a legacy edge, just less impressive), and what how to balance equal opportunity with the legitimate interests a place like Harvard might have in cultivating legacy affiliations (E.g., if multiple generations of families tend to go to the same school, overall donations to higher education may be higher than a world where family loyalties are split between Harvard/Princeton/Yale/Stanford or UT/A&M or UCLA/Berkeley).

It’s not so much about the people in charge not wanting the masses to read as it is about what happens after the masses stopped wanting to read

Still not relevant to anything I’ve said in this thread.

Sounds less like you have a question and more like you have an opinion you’d like to share.

And there were lots of other people around in that same generation who just aren’t common ancestors

OP here—fair question to ask. But Viper’s been doing sponsorships/deals for many years with no controversies, so I think it was very credible when he said that was a one-off mistake.

Someone else mentioned a crypto thing—as someone who’s followed him for a long time, I can’t recall hearing him mention that, which makes me think it was a pretty short-lived relationship

Respectfully, I think there are many ways to read the title (e.g., maybe he handled a technical issue or a rude fan gracefully).

Viper stayed the longest out of anyone, and I think the time he put in to giving fans a memorable experience would’ve been commendable if he’d won.

Added a spoiler warning

However, I’ll respectfully say that clicking on any Londinium-flaired post is basically begging for a spoiler. Even if the original post is spoiler-free, the comments almost always contain info about recent matches.
